DirecTv turned over a past due amount of $116 to allied interstate in 04. The last reported activity on this account per my credit report, was dec 04. Since then, NCO (another collection agency) has bought this debt and I am currently making arrangements with them. My question is how do I get Allied to remove their claim to this debt since they are no longer collecting on it. Thanks!

In the past we have had more than our fair share of drama and hurtful posts on our forum. During that time Admin and the moderating team have developed what we have called our "Zero Tolerance" policy. Our rules are very easy and simple to follow. We encourage discussion and debate,but personal attacks and abusive posting will not be tolerated. Normally if this occurs the poster will find their post edited or deleted depending on how bad the wording is and a warning will follow.

It is Friday and soon I will be sitting in front of the tube clicking through 100 cable channels and not finding anything to watch but cooking shows and those rag shows like Extra! Who cares about Brittany and KFed. Rosie shut up and if I hear the term "baby bump" one more time I am going to throw up. I did, however, start watching a show called "Cane" that is about a wealthy Cuban rum producing family in Florida starring Jimmy Smits who plays a convincing part as the adopted son who has been given control of the family business much to the distain of his step brothers.

Meaning, we are trying to clean up my credit...I have multiple charge offs from a few years ago. They are all paid, but I have no open accounts currently. I know that I won't be able to get any credit on my own(tried) so would adding me as a joint account holder on my wifes credit cards(2) help? Is that even possible? Will it reflect on my credit report if I get added? If not, are there any credit cards out there that allow joint accounts up front, one person with terrible credit, the other with impeccable credit? There was a debit on my checking account from Geneva roth vent. I have never used this account to get anything from them. How did they get my checking account information

I received a recorded voice message on my cell voicemail, telling me to call The Law Office of Vincent P Cignarale at 866-878-5796. I have not done so. I Googled the phone number and read some interesting things about this "law firm". It is a debt collector who buys old debts for pennies on the dollar, and many of these debts are past the Statute of Limitations. Does anyone know how SOL's work? Each state is different, and what I need to know is how I determine the SOL that pertains to my debt? I now live in Ohio, but all my old debts originated in my home state of California.

Should I file for bankruptcy? I currently make $8/hr (about 30 hours a week)....my paychecks are around $350 bi-weekly. My rent is approximately $300 & my car payment is $289.19. I have about $12,000 in credit card debt....I'm getting summons right now to go to court for them...what do I do?

They were copied on the bottom of the letter I just got from the newest "Attorney".

I took out at PDL with the above as the creditor (apparently). I disputed the validity of the loan as they are not licensed to do business in my state (IA). Eventually, I closed the checking account I used to open many, many PDLs with (all are resolved except, apparently this one). Lo and behold, today I find out that they have debited my NEW checking account for the full amount of the loan plus fees and interest. I have NO idea how they got ahold of my new information (I have no PDLs on this new account) and I can't imagine it's legal for them to do so.

I called to Collection Agency to ask removal of my account from the credit history. But they said they can't. I asked her I talked with to ask they can delete it or not to their lawyer. The guy(I thought he was a lawyer, but he told me he is a manager.) told me only what he wants to tell. yes, I'm not good at English. so I wanted to check their saying. I have a letter from them yesterday by fax. It says if I pay $ XX before 10/25/07, it will be settled in full.
