i got a phone call from ck marking saying they will settle my account for 390 dollars i only borrowed 300 dollars they said i either pay this or they will take me to court anybody know where they are based out of i live in maine i dont know what to do i dont want to go to court or jail for not paying it

I re'cd a phone call from Glass Mountain Capital wanting to get my ss# before they answer any questions when asked who they were.The lady was extremely rude and hung up in my face before she stated"I WILL HANDLE THIS IN MY OWN WAY".I just lost my husband and was somewhat distraught by this company that I have no knowledge of.What do I do next???I refuse to give out my personal info due to several encounters with fraud.

Below is an email received. I know it is scam and have reported to the FTC. I am also waiting for a call from CashNetUSA to determine if this is from them.

I recently submitted a revocation letter to American Web Loan and OnlineAdvance.com. Also, I've contacted my bank who's working with me on this. American web loan responded with the following thread...what do I do now?!!: Dear Valued Customer, Please contact Customer Service during our regular business hours in regards to your account at 877-636-1353 Option 2.

I have written to Cashcall whom bought my loan from Western Sky, and I am trying to get out of this debt. I have sent the revocation of ACH letter about 8 times just today and they have responded the first time with the spiel that they are tribal lender and governed by the soverign nation blah blah that they all try to spew from the start. I replied with the info I found on this sight about how i was not on tribal land.

My friend just received a notice of a complaint filed by Midland for unpaid credit card debt. If we contact Midland directly, will they be likely to negotiate a reduced payment if we agree to pay in a lump sum? In exchange, we would want them to withdraw the lawsuit in writing, etc.

Hi everyone, Unfortunately, a few years ago, I made some poor fiscal choices that snowballed into a financially irresponsible lifestyle. I took steps to correct these mistakes of lack of budgeting, overborrowing, etc. However, I had fallen into the payday lending trap and couldn't get out. I almost climbed to the top of that hole but was then laid off and simultaneously had a major car repair. Fortunately, I had another job lined up but make significantly less $ than before....payday loans are eating away my paycheck and have snowballed into a huge debt.
