Hi Everyone, Every now and then, we get visitors who like to stir things up in our happy little corner of the net. Either they are collectors, work for the PDL industry or are just trolls. We had one today, and thankfully, one of the other moderators locked the thread--but this was after everyone was stirred up. Can we all agree to just ignore these companies so they go away? They are only doing this to create discontent and if they can't, they'll just go somewhere else.

There's so much pressure these days to have so much more than we really need. And I was deep into that until about 10 years ago. I was also about $2500 into debt, which doesn't sound like much was enough of a monthly set of payments that it really hurt my budget. At the time I got out of debt in about 6 months by taking a part-time job and using that to pay off everything. Now I am still debt free largely because I have found a passive stream of income from an Internet based business. For me spending is not a problem...I live quite simply.

Lawstudent (a moderator for this forum) made an excellent point that is sadly true, that certain CA's view the fdcpa as more a cost of business as opposed to certain lines that should not be crossed. I think that is just sick, but true. I wish there was a way to spread the word and educate the masses to their rights afforded to them my federal and state statutes, and to let them all strike back and let the dirty CA's out there that it is a penalty imposed for commiting a crime by violating a persons rights.

Our friend Tracy sent me an email as a preferred customer and offered me a $400 dollar loan with discounted fees?!? I quickly deleted it but still had a laugh over the preferred customer title - not a road I will ever go down again.

I came to the US 5 years ago from a small country in Europe, called Bulgaria. We didnt have credit cards there (well we unfortunatelly do have them now) back then. We didnt have leases, credit reports, collection agencies. And I never knew what credit was. 5 years later, I am preparing myself to fight my 20K debts. A wonderful mix of credit cards, personal lines of credit, school loans and thousands wasted in fees & interest. Wish me luck, because I will need it :?

I received a phone call last week from Eskanos & Adler-I attempted to return call but couldn't get through to anybody until today (I received a letter from them in mail today) They are collecting on a debt (this is a legitamate debt). I owe $12,000. I told them I could pay $3,500 next month and make payments monthly. They informed me that I would need to pay entire debt by December or they would garnish my wages and I would be responsible for court fees. I do not know what action to take next. I should pay my debt but can not afford to pay entire amount immediately.

Why is that our government doesnt do nothing against all these payday & high interest liars? I just cannot beleive how many people have serious problems with these agencies. Where is the consumer protection? :x

I have a loan with them and they are being nasty about the whole thing. I took a loan out for 350 and at the same time I had more than one and when it came due I defaulted. Well since then I have made 1 $200 payment last month and I told them I could only pay 50 more a month till I get it paid off. Well they want more than that! I can't seem to find any info on them and could use a little help. thanks

Hi I m jsut wondering if say im in debt of £14 000 and im leaving at a address that isnt registered in my name but a family members and i leave to South Africa Without paying it. Will the ppl who are after the money go to that address and ask for it even tho im not in the country anymore ? Thanks
