During a divorce in 1999, I was forced to do a short sale on my house. The sale covered the first and a portion of the 2nd. The mortgage company agreed to the short sale but then contacted me by phone stating they wanted me to pay 150.00 a month interest free in order to pay more on my loan. During that same year, a bad mark was placed on my credit report and showing the terms of the agreement. As of several years ago it showed another remark that the loan was settled for less than owed. In approximately 2000, it was given to a collection agency.

I have had problems with my credit due to personal problems, drinking.. I have had a repossession org amount 32,000, 11,000 which was written off. On my account i had 7 collections.. after having 4 deleted I still sit on 12-13K in collection dept..mostly from the repo. What is the best way to handle this dept.. i have a (401)type account which i owe 600.. once i pay off that my available amount to borrow will be around 7000.. I really hate getting back into that account because i wanna have money to retire on. How do you deal with lenders to handle suck a big charge off amount?

I sent the Law offices of Gordon & Wong (San Francisco) a request for validation. This is their response: Something sounds wrong, is that because they are talking "verification" and I am requested "validation" The SOL expired last week but I am trying to reslove this with some finality. Any ideas on how to respond to this?

Does anyone know where I can find a good template for drafting my complaint letters to the AG's office and BBB? Also, when I'm sending complaints to the BBB.........which one do I send it to, the one where I live (PA), or the one where the PDL is based out of?

Hi, My husbands car was repoed years ago before we got married. I read on this forum that the bank sells the car but you are still responsible for the difference b/n what they sold it for and what you owed on the car which is likely alot. Anyway, we have never been contacted to have him pay the balance and I am worried that one day we will get something in the mail and our wages will be garnished out of no where.

Is this the same as garnishment? Garnishment is illegal in Texas (I think except for federal like child support, student loans, etc). So if this is the case if a pdl (or a collection agency for that matter)tried it would the employer just laugh at em?
