My husband had an affair immediately following building a new home. Within 6 months the truth was out and my life became a living nightmare. The girlfriend took personal/financial documents from his apartment, scanned them and stole my identity. She purchased an expensive car and tried to insurance it on our insurance policy which is how I found out. Even with the conviction and 5 yrs probation she got it was not worth the paper it was written on. I juggled the new home for 3 yrs before getting someone else in there to make the payments.

I emailed my cease and decease letter including my revoking of ACH debits and voluntary wage assignments, and I haven't heard anything...what should I do now? I also filed complaints with the NC AG office, am I on the right track?

Hey guys and gals, yesterday a familiar face came in looking for a job. It was the lady from the Advance America office. Seems they are laying off, anyway we are helping her find another job. She said the Pa Department of Banking won their suit against this lender, so I went and found it. Check this out. Would be nice if they would reimburse. For anyone following my blog on DIY settlement, here's my 1st major update? I spoke with one of the relentless creditors today that called me, it's for a larger debt 17K. I am about 4-5 months behind on this account. I told them I couldn’t make the payments and said I might be able to only settle, so they said they could help me with that. I offered 40% of the original balance, the lady offered me 60% and it would have to be paid in three months. Then I got disconnected!!

I have several (six to be exact) pay day loans - all from the internet. I have been researching (on this site) what to do. I am already planning to close my bank account later this week and write letters revoking the ach and any wage assignments that I may have signed. I live in South Carolina and do not know what the laws are for my state. Please help!

Hi! I am new, just found this site and am avidly reading everything I can. I am in Texas and have a single payday loan with EZmoney. This is actually the second pdl I have had with them. The original amount was for $600.00 My finance charge was almost exactly at 41% a month, I slowly made small payments over the finance charge, and each new finance charge was at 41% of the new balance. I am now down to $300.00 but have defaulted. I had a bunch of stuff going on and forgot to go in and make the payment, but called the next morning to say I would be in…too late!

I have 3 separate pdl's out totaling $1200 - CheckSmart, Express Payroll Advance and Nat'l Check Cashers. I stopped payment on the checks before they were due to be cashed when it became clear to me that they would not work a payment plan with me. I've also closed my checking account. After stopping the checks, I sent them each a letter stating (again) that I was currently unable to pay the debt in full at this time, that I intended to pay my debt in full but with regular payments. I;ve since sent all three of them payments of $25 each within a month's time frame.

So i have been ignoring my debts for so long and moved numerous times tha i do not have any of my paper work in who i owe money and how much is htere a way to find out account numbers and balances even if the creditors have sotpped calling me?

I have 37,ooo in debt. I've already set up a payment arrangement with the 3 credit card companies that have lowered the interest to 3-0% . They will be paid off within 5 years. Is this good, or can I do better? I might need to try the debt settlement process as now I can't pay my mortgage very well. I am often late with those payments.
