My husband and I have fallen on hard times in the past few years. We are finally at a point where we can pay all of our normal bills every month and even have some extra money to be able to pay back a debt consolidation loan but now that we messed up our credit in the past, no one wants to give us a chance. We have never had a car or home reposessed but have had credit card issues and a few late payments. Do you know of any lenders who would loan to someone with a credit score of 548? I would appreciate any responses.

Hi, I have been recently contacted by Koupferstein and Associates regarding a loan that I have that is outstanding. This guy "sargent" is his name, does not want to listen to reason, I have told him that I will pay it down in installments and he out right said NO and that I would be charged with Fraud as well as a thourough investigation against me. Can you provide any insight as to what I should do? He advised that if I paid 800.00 by noon today it would be fine, if not it would be 2400.00! Looking forward to your reply. Kind regards, Tina

my husband had a car repo'd when he went to jail for a dui offense. now we're trying to get his credit back on track, and get his loan amount for the car paid off, but the bank through which he got the loan through went out of business, and it wasnt turned over to a collection agency. the problem is, it's still on his credit report and whenever i call the number listed under that account- it's disconnected. is there anything at all that we could do? i talked to someone at our bank now and they said that as long as that is on his credit report, we would have problems

I am in debt up to my eyeballs! I'm just not sure where to start. I owe about $20,000, in 6 credit cards, 2 payday loans and that amount is also including my car payment and student loan. Its just once I think that I'm ahead I get knocked back down and I'm tired of it. I'm tired of not being able to sleep and not being able to answer my phone for fear of collectors. I need help and fast. My roommate is actually moving out in about a year and I need to start looking for a place for myself but with my credit it's going to be close to impossible. I'm ready to buckle down and face this head on.
