Should one go for debt settlement, is it ethical? Don't you feel it is against the religions, where you are supposed to pay that amount what you borrow?

Re-Ageing by collection agencies? I have noticed that on old credit reports a specific collection account should have been off my report and when I go and get a current report the date of that charge off has changed to another year or two more on my credit report. I have already disputed with the credit bureau's but they insist that it has been "varified" what every that means. I know for a fact the dates of this charge off because I personally spoke to the creditor and asked for this information long ago and still have my notes. so now what do I do.

My Son just got papers from attorney that he is being sued for rent he has not paid. aman in a car served the papers not the sherrif befor that a letter came that said he owed 7oo dollar but the oter paper says he owes 1007 dollars the paper's were two weeks apart What course can he take he has no money although he doe,s have a job but just went Bankrupt. i signed a lease with ram property and 2 other companies brought it horizon the donaldson group i broke my lease 2 months before it was up at that time one of the other companies owned the property not ram this was 17 or 18 months ago now ram properties trying to sue me for the 2 months rent not the company that brought the property i need to contact the donaldson group to find out when they brought the property because i use to sign my rent check to ram property and 3 months before i broke my contact i was told to write it to cheverly crossing llc.

OK...the other latter I got from the AG was in response to GFSIL. GFS responded that I had asked them to stop debiting my account and wanted to make other payments arrangements...this was before I was here and knew what I know now....GFS went on to say I had a preivious loan with them which I paid off with no questions...and that the loan was done over the phone and I knew full well I was accepting the English Law to govern the loan. When I defaulted they continued to try to collect the monies owed them.

ok...I filed all my complaints with the AG, they in turn said they would mediate on my behalf for a resolution. Two of my filed complaints were MTE. 1 was United Cash Loans and 1 was 1000 EasyPayday Loan. Now I had also filed them with the BBB and there seemed to be some confusion...or so I thought...United responded to the BBB and to me and I worked out a deal with them...they marked me PIF...it was all done under the name United.

My husband and I are in our early 30's with 4 kids (newest one is a week old!). I am a stay at home mom (who could afford child care?) and my husband works in technical support for a large computer company. We are a one income family and have been since our marriage 4 years ago. I had less than 1000 in small debts when we married on top of a 14K student loan. This is my big burden. He had a few small debts less than 1000 too probably.
