I just got a letter from northland group in the mail today. I am sure they bought my account from AFS for a past due credit card. I need to know if I should accept their settlement offer. The current balance is $1,008.84 and their settlement offer is for $665.83. What do you think? I kinda sucks because this credit card only had a balance of $200 :x But I know I owe this and need to pay it.

Okay, I just got off the phone with a collection agency for one of my credit cards. And they agreed to let me settle for almost 300 dollars less than the actual amount owed, so at the end of this month when that payment goes through, I'll be one less credit card in debt!! Whoop whoop! Sorry, my boyfriend didn't answer the phone and I HAD to tell someone!

Hi, I have several payday loans that I am trying to take care of. I am currently working with Langhorne, but the only ones that they probably won't be able to do are the ones with Ace Cash Express. Ace won't take payment plans and they are calling me everyday telling me that I need to seek legal advice. Can I go to jail if I don't pay it in full right away? I am in Texas.

With the way the support from the AG's office is going I'm really starting to panic here. What if the remaining 10 come after me full guns? Does anyone know of anywhere you can get a PDL consolidation loan?

OK after being gone for a little bit and getting my credit reports cleaned up. I have been getting harassed by IC Systems. Now here is the background. They are trying to collect on a debt against my wife, that is out of SOL and is over 9 years old from verizon. They started calling about 2 months ago. They were calling here everyday around 11:30. When I would answer they would immediately hang up, Then they would call back 15 mins later and so the same thing. After the second call I would call them back using the number on my caller ID.

OK, I know we have a lot of Tim McGraw fans here (#1 fan here), so am wondering if anyone heard the story about the fan that recently grabbed Tim in the "nether regions" and was berated by Faith? I'm shaking I'm so angry. I just argued with the NY AG representative about PDL's. He saying I went into a legal binding contract and owe the money and there is absolutely nothing the AG's office can do for me. He suggested again that I seek debt counseling. I swear he treated me worse than the collections people did. I asked him for the phone number of another agent in the office. He gave it to me after going on and on about they can't discuss other people with me and based on my complaint no one can help me.

I do most of my banking online. (for my local bank) I just signed on, and found that a TOTAL of 47,000. was held. I apparently owe 8,000 in credit card debt from 2001, which I had no idea (no, really) Well, the hold is on 3 accounts-14,000 about on each is held! My mortgage payment, my checks written, and automatic payments will all bounce!! The bank will be calling me back with the ifo on WHO did this, and WHAT the heck it's about. What can I do??? Can they do this to me without letting me know??

I didn't log on last night, and when I checked the forums this morning, I read about Queen's problem with the check at Walmart... This has me very concerned. Could these sleezy PDLs really give us a problem with writing out checks??? I read through the threads but did not really seem to get a definitive answer..... Help!
