Is anyone else tired of the comments left in threads from anonymous visitors who come here to attack or berate the users here? So many times do we witness a thread go down because of a couple of 'guests' who disrupt the helping of one another, by accusing consumers of being "deadbeats", or telling them to "pay their bills and collectors will stop calling". I suppose what I would like to propose for all members and visitors to do from now on, is to pretend that any negative comment left, is invisible to us, and contiune the converstions as if the rude comments are oblivious to us.

I saw a plea for help from Mr. Jones on the blog vote post - it should be in a better spot to ask for help, and to get a response from all the great people here. Just wanted to give you a heads up

i dont if anyone here will have any answers 4 my situation but here it is. when i was 15 my mom took me to the emergency room and never paid the bill. im now 19 and a debt collection agency is is saying im reasponsable 4 the bill. and if im leaelly soposed to pay i will but to i was a minor and my mother should have to pay it but to my point if anyone knows anythig or a site i could go to please!

What can i do about threats from Nationwide aka Ambassador? How should my next email read?

I received a "bill" from the law firm stated above attempting to collect a debt from 1990 from Ballys Gym. Im not sure what to do with this and could use some help. When I opened the account I was living in Ohio at the time. I checked the Statute of Limitations for the state of Oh and came up with 15 years for signed contracts. Also approx 1-2 years after the account was opened I filed for bankcruptcy due to a nasty car accident so this debt would have been included in that bankcruptcy.

About 10 yrs ago we had a car repossessed. Since then we have bought 2 houses, been over our credit report numerous times and cleaned everything up. This was never on any credit report and we were completely unaware of it all this time. We just recently were contacted by a company that bought this debt (which we were never contacted about after the repo) and they want us to pay $14,000. Is this possible that they can try to collect this so many years later? We live in Pennsylvania. Thanks for any advice.

I fell for the old "zero percent financing for a year" gag. I thought wow, that's not bad so I used my personal CC to start a small business. Well as soon as my debt to available balance ratio went over 50% my rate jumped to 33%. I was shocked!!! I called the CC company (Chase) and asked what happened. They said I had missed a payment and now had to pay the penalty interest rate. I was furious. I tried reasoning with the woman saying that I had never got a bill that month, and like most people, if you don't get a bill then you don't pay it.

I changed by bank account a couple of months ago and made an online payment to Capital One a few days prior to it being 30 days late. Unfortunately, I forgot to update my banking information online and they never received the payment. Now it's been reported as 30 days late. I made a huge payment which included the fees and it has cleared so now I am current. Will this one 30 day late hurt my credit score? We are trying to buy a house and can't afford to let the score drop any. I screwed up and now I am paying for it. I kept waiting for the payment to clear and couldn't figure out why.
