I just received a summons letter from Gurstel, Staloch & Chargo who are representing lvnv funding llc and I was looking for some advice. Judging by LVNV forums I'm starting to wonder if this is for real or not? I have heard of debt collectors sending out bogus court papers in attempt to get people to pay. Apparently, they want me to declare, under penalty of perjury, that I recieved this copy of the summons and complaint and I'm supposed to send it back within 20 days.

We were informed by our landlord that they are seeling the house we are renting but offering the house to us first. We have been on a month to month lease with them because we told them we were looking into buying a house. We were expecting to sign a 6 month lease but then we got the letter about them wanting to sell the house. Because we are consolidating our pdls we closed our checking and reopened a new account and learned our FICO is 620. Last year it was 520. We have a bk discharged 4 years ago, 2 cc which are maxed out right now and a personal loan which is current.

I was wondering, for SOL purposes... can an account be charged off more than once? I have an account since 2000 that was charged off in 2001,2003,2004. I've last paid on it in 2004 and officially refuse to acknowledge the debt until they can explain to me why it was charged off in 2001 at $3100. and now even after $1000.00 in payments - it's back up to $3600. The newest CA has started charging interest, after it had not incurred any between the original charge off and 2004. I've requested validation and got a verification.

I was sued by a collection aency and paid the debt to the original creditors after suit, they dropped this part of the case and now want attorney fees and court cost, the original debt was $543 and they want $1400 plus interest and also keep asking for $200 each additional letter they send me from court filing, i send them filings as well as the court has told me to,the agency never did send me proof they own the debt and if so,wouldnt or shouldnt the original creditors NOT have accepted the payment?they did,anyways,can anyone help me with any of this?

I just found out 2 of the internet payday loans i have from United Cash Loans and Magnum cash Advance has a desist and refrain order against them in my state of California. Quote:

As suggested by all the helpful people on here, I sent Afni a request for debt validation by certified mail, return receipt requested.
