My bank has a lien for over $8K on my account, through Glasser & Glasser collections. I was not served papers or officially notified in any other way prior. I found out when I was checking my account balances online. I've been receiving unemployment since May 2011 and get occasional freelance/contract gigs. Otherwise, I'm collecting less than $200/week income. And I've already been told by VEC that unemployment benefits are soon to run out. Can they legally take money that barely pays for my necessities, like food, shelter, etc? Please advise!

Hello, I am in a bit of a mess. I have been paying my mortgage late within 30 days for the past 6 months. I did a stupid thing of taking out several payday loans and a Western Skye/Cash Call loan for $2500.00 I had to end up closing my bank account to stop the pdls because I had a big car expense and could not keep up with all my payments. This past mortgage payment was almost 45 days late, I had advised my credit union that the payment was going to be late and in fact always email them even when it is 30 days late.

Okay so I've been following all the information I've received on this forum on how to deal with unlicensed lenders and so far I've been doing very well, and have settled 3 of them. However I am having some trouble with MyPayDayLoan. I took out a loan with them a few months ago for $400 and have paid $360 in fees so far, so I wrote them a letter and told them I was willing to pay the remaining amount of $40. I received a reply today informing me that I owe a balance of $520 and they will turn over to collections if I do not pay.

back in July my ex-wife received a summons to court for a debt that she had cosigned with me when we were still married. She immediately called the attorney's office listed on the summons. She told them that I was responsible for the debt as per the divorce. They told her that that didn't matter and that they had not been able to contact me so they were going after her. she called me in a panic and I told her that I would resolve it. Neither of us could afford an attorney at the time so we figured that the best way to handle this was to make arrangements with the lender.

If your redemption is turned down by the courts can you still keep the car if you pay what is owed to catch up on the loan also if the court approves the redemption can the creditor turn down the offer
