When is a debt collector applicable to a consumer? Please explain.

I rec. a call today from Viking Collections. The woman said that they purchased my debt..although she did not know why they did. She said they were a very aggressive collection agency. I tried working with the orginal credit card company but was humiliated and laughed at to the point I could not..I offered to pay $50, of which they said that was not enough. Heard nothing for a long while until today. They want me to send them $75 a month in six different checks all sent at once. I have to send them overnight tomorrow and call her when I do. I don't know what to do?

I have noticed quite a few posts on this site about OneClickCash.Com. They are one of the payday loan companies that I obtained a loan from via the Internet. Because of all of the problems that I have had, as referenced in my other posts, I had emailed the loan companies and advised them that my funds were frozen and I would only be able to pay by Money Order. I have emailed OneClickCash.Com's CustomerService(at)oneclickcash.com address several times since December 14, 2006, requesting their address so that I can send them a payment for the $195.00 that I owe.

Sorry I havent been around in a while, but any help on this would be great. I had an internet pdl that defaulted many months ago for I lost my job. The pdl was UPFRONTPAYDAY.COM. They had sold my debt to a collection agency called National Credit Adjusters. My loan was for $300 and they now want $760. My issue is that the collection agency reported it on my credit report. When I filed a dispute with Experian, they came back to me saying they looked into my dispute and according to the collection agency it is a valid debt.

Does anyone have a name to go with this number. We got a call from them, but don't know who they are.

I do feel a little better about the guys that showed up, but to make myself feel better, how would I find out if it was a summons? How do they usually serve someone? thanks
