In April 2005, I took out a payday loan with Express Cash/Westbury Ventures for $300. I ended up getting in over my head with payday loans because I was trying to get bills taken care of and my bank account ended up getting closed due to overdraft charges for the charges the payday loan companies were trying to withdraw. I was never contacted in writing by Westbury concerning the loan after my account closed and I honestly forgot about it.

I had a couple of credit report discrepancies in which I want to settle. We moved about 8 years ago and two of our creditors did not get our change of address. Now interest and late fees have added up; we have decided to settle with a recovery agency and with the actual credit card company for near half of the balance. Is this fair or is there something that I can do to limit the damages. Do I have any legal standing to fight this or do I just have to settle because we accidentally did not apparently give them our new address?

I sent a debt verification to the ca on my medical bill in Feb. I sent it certified and got my slip back - I have yet to get anything from them. I was thinking of sending a second request. Well this morning at 7:30am I get someone ringing the bell - so by the time I got myself together & looked out, there was a dark car parked kitty corner across the street - there was a guy knocking on doors directly across the street, and kitty corner to me, and a guy on my porch.

i am currently gettin a teaching certification and my husband is over seas iin iraq. im just drowning with haveing so many payments to make and not making a dent in anything. im not sure if debt consolidation is right for me.

I am so excited! I am doing the Detroit Marathon this fall! My times in my last 2 mini-thons (one today) put me in position for this. Think positive for me, and wish me luck, I have some work to do to get ready..If I place in this I get to run in the Boston Marathon, and that's a huge dream of mine.

i have been dealing with collectors on medical bills for a few months now. The situation i am in is that i dont make enough money to pay for my debts after my normal expenses are being paid. I have offered to send in small payments, but they are refusing them. Heres the kicker...when i explained the position i am in to the creditors, most of them have come back with responses that literally have floored me and i have felt harrassed me.

I have a car in my mother's name that I am about 2 mos behind on, I have 4 payday loans and am sturggling to pay my rent. I don't know how I got in this hole. My credit is horrible. I have a foreclosure on my credit. Daycare payments are killing me.....Help!!!!

How can someone cash a personal check made out to them without an open checking account?
