My debt was sold from one collector to another. It was sold to a company called JMA Acquisitions. That company went out of business and sold its debt. Now I don't know who they sold it to. Any Ideas?

In 2005 my former spouse left me. There was no money, but there was debt -- in my name. (Thank God in our short marriage we never mingled credit.) I attempted to negotiate lower payments with the credit card companies but they told me I had to default before they would work with me. I just got a call from northway aka CTC that said if I do not pay loan amount due by may 1, 2007. They will have my wages garnished and that they will contact a place called chex something and i will not be able to open up any more bankaccounts.I tried to tell tem i wanted to set up a payment plan and they said no it has to be paid on may 1, 2007. I am a hard working person who has never had so much problems with debt but resently it just seems like all my bills are piling up and my paycheck is not enough to cover them. I need help paying off all of my payday loans and a couple of individual loans. I know that if I can pay off my loans the rest will be easier for me to pay.

Quick question. Is it legal when you sign for a loan with a pdl company and they have a binding arbitration clause that is in fine print, not on its own page and not bolded? Westbury Ventures has a binding arbitration clause. Would it be beneficial to send them a revocation letter so they don't try to come after me?

Yesterday I recieved a call from Vanessa with this company, West Asset Management. She says I have been turned over to them for a bill from a local hospital in the amount of $32.39 but if I would be willing to settle at that time they would settle for $16.20. But in order to this they want my credit card info or debit card info. I have NO knowledge of this bill or what it is for. I know this is a small amount and it is NOT on my credit report but how do I know this will be considered paid in full and not re-sold and asked to pay it again and again? I sent out letter of validation already.

I am deep in personal debt because of an expensive divorce last year. The problem is that once you're in debt, and even though you're paying everything on time, they "suddenly" increase your minimum payments and your apr.
