A company calls each morning at 8:15 a.m. How do I find out who they are and why they are calling? This is the interstate collection agency.....and they give a reference number for a debt they say I owe. I live debt free. I need to stop this daily "alarm clock". Sad

I obtained a loan through Western Sky in March of this year. They sold it to CashCall a few hours after I signed all the documents. I can't afford to pay them their outrageous fees anymore, so I stopped them from taking ACH transactions. I am working with Payday Freedom to help pay off this loan and some other payday loans. I have been reading some information on here about payday lenders that are not licensed by the state I live in (Minnesota) being illegal. I have contacted the MN Dept. of Commerce and every pdl that I have out except 1 is illegal.

First of all I made the huge mistake of signing up with a debt settlement company. By the time I realized this I was already about 3 months behind on Cap One( 2 accounts ) Citi, Discover, and Wells Fargo. Discover worked with me and I will be up to date next month. I thought that Cap One was working with me but I received a default notice with them even though I have been making all of the payments that we schuedled. Citi is accepting partial payments but keep raising the min amount due. My question is will these companies ever back down so I can get the accounts current.

I have a private student loan that was disputed in court. There was a settlement for less than the original amount. Since then the loan has been sold and resold at least 3 times. It has suddenly disappeared from my credit report. The "Servicer" of the loan is still asking for payment. Can I refuse payment or will it reappear on my credit report? I don't think they could produce any original paperwork if I asked for it. Can I freeze my credit now, then stop paying them, then when they try to report to the credit bureau I can deny it? I'm not sure if it would work that way. Any advice??

Does anyone know if it is true that when a debt collector files a suit in Texas that they must include the original agreement that shows that they are owed the debt? I was served by the JP court for credit card debt and need to formulate an answer. If they are supposed to have included that I could file a motion to dismiss, right? Any help would be appreciated!

After I send a debt validation letter do I do anything but wait for the next 30 days? Also can the debt collector do anything to me before the debt is validated? I live in NY if that means anything. Also it is from a debt collection law firm. Thank you.

I have acquired the services of an attorneys office to deal with MCM and other creditors as part of a debt consolidation. Should I be concerned?
