If after auditing my records with the credit card companies you don't find any errors, what happens? Does this trash my credit rating?

My nephew lives with me and my wife and has lived here for 3+ years now. We are his legal guardians. When he was with his mother for about a month (reunification is the term they used) he had to have a couple x-rays on his foot. His mother didn't pay the bill and the doctor turned the bill over to collections. He was 15 years old at the time and just recently he wanted to get a checking account and was turned down because of negative credit items. We ordered a credit report and see that this all stems back to when he was with his mother.

Can anyone advise me where I can find the actual statute that tells me about the Statute of Limitations in the state of Florida? My fiance had a vehicle repossessed in 2002 and we just discovered where they have filed to get a judgement. They haven't served him yet, but from everything that I have read they only have a few more months to do that. So I would like to know the laws before this happens. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! :D

Hi everyone, I am writing this email because my girlfriend is SWAMPED in student loan debt. We graduated in 2004 and since then she has been paying 10% on two (2) loans she got from Sallie Mae. Since she has begun repayment, her principal balance has actually gone UP ON BOTH LOANS! I have to get her out of this and would really appreciate any suggestions of programs that you can think of that can consolidate approximately $30K in debt for a lower rate. Thank you, Tim

Anyone know if these people are "alright" Are they bullies? Can they collect debts that they bought from credit cards from any state? I owe them $20,000. I think that is alot of money, but Im not sure what to do. Thanks

I just got a call from Check n Go. I took out a loan with them recently, and my fiancee has been paying on another one since last year. I expalained that I am working with T&C and that I have every intention of paying but that I am just in over my head and needed some help. She informed me that they will not work with T&C because they consider this an "installment loan" and that if I do not remit 363.63 right away, (which I just do not have) they will start collections proceedings and attach my wages.

I thought some of you might be interested in the ruling on validation in this case. It's my interpretation, the Court ruled that basically all a CA is required to do is advise a debtor they owe money. Edited by Cajunbulldog

I have been e-mailing back and forth with oneclickcash which turned the account over to pinion collections. Well I told them about all the times they tried to debit my checking account and all the fees I got from that plus that they over charged me (according to my state laws) on the nsf fees also. Well to start out they wanted me to pay them $505. I already had 2 rollover fees that were taken out before my bank closed my checking account. Well today they sent me a settlement offer of $175. Do I try and hold out for them to pay back some of my nsf fees from my bank.

My name is Eric, I'm 23 and recently married. My wife and I have been living together since the fall of 2005 when her divorce was finalized. Due to a dead-beat ex and a bad lawyer I inherited a mound of debt from medical bills. On top of that my wife was diagnosed with chronic migraines. She wakes up with them and goes to bed with them on a daily basis. This has been going on for over a year now and suddenly the insurance company says they are refusing to pay for ALL of her bills since October 2006 (Approximately $25K).
