Back in 2002 I had a speigel account with a balance of $320.00. Spiegel had informed me that they no longer were using the credit company that my Speigel Card had been issued through so I paid off my account. So I thought. I became very ill shortly after sending what I thought was my final payment on my credit card account. Never received anything from Speigel and I received a phone call about a year and half ago from this company stating that I owed Spiegel $1,162.00 which I told them I did not owe this amount and to stop calling.

I received a letter, just like the ones stated above, saying I owe Tate & Kirlin over $400.00 and that they would settle for a little over $200.00, but here's the thing, I've never been late on ANY kind of bill in my life, and it bothers me to even have $200.00 on my credit card, let alone over 4 hundred dollars, I don't have the slightest idea of what in the world they're talking about. The letter did not say who I bought $400.00 worth of merchandise, or borrowed a loan from. I am really confused about this letter, to say the least. Are these letters legit?

Please don't judge but I am freaking out. I took out 3 payday loans in the last month, one for $300, and 2 for $700. The 2 for $700 are cashnetusa and cashtransfercenters. The $300 is from the Loan Shoppe. I planned to pay them back but I am a stupid gambler and wasted it all away and now I can't pay. I closed my checking acct. and now the calls have started. The worst part is I don't have a job, I listed our business as my job, so basically it is fraud. I know, stupid. My husband and I are seriously contemplating bankruptcy as we are $90K in credit card debt as it is.

I had an AT&T cell phone account, the contract for which ran out in September of 2000. They continued charging me, however, and by the time I realized it and complained, a charge of $222 had been incurred. When I argued the contract had expired, they claimed I had to notify them and ask them not to automatically renew it. I was fresh out of college at the time, and frankly pretty ignorant of credit issues. I blew them off. Fast forward 6+ years, and here I am trying to clear up my credit. This is still on there. I have a number of issues.

Anyone know if I can record phone calls with CA's without them knowing?

Does anyone know how this works. I just received my contract from them in the mail. When I filled out the information I only gave them the amount of the principal, not the principal plus the interest on the loan. I have overpaid every company but I just dont want to have to deal with them anymore. How does this work, should I call T&C and give them a more accurate amount, (interest included) or should I Just leave it up to them to deal with the companies and figure something out? Any suggestions?

Well, today was my first day at my new job. It went really well. I was a little nervous at first but everyone is so nice there. It is so different from my old job. There is a lot to learn but I think I managed to learn something on my first day. There is a lot that makes no sense to me right now but I know that will change in time. This is truly the right job for me though. I will be working five days per week while I am in training over the next three to four weeks. I have a little studying to do and then off to bed. I have to get used to getting up on a regular basis again. :P
