I am very confused. I have been reading up on this site and several others and even spoke with a lawyer and I keep getting different answers. Just to add to my fun when I contacted the States Attorney via email , phone calls and checking the website there is no real answer. The lawyer told me that in Illinois they consider a bank credit card a written contract making the SOL 10 years. But when I looked under federal law it seemed to me (and I am so not hip to legal jargon ) that credit cards were open.

Hi there, I am new to this so forgive me if I ramble on or don't make sense right away. Just recently have had a few things come up that have made getting by from paycheck to paycheck harder than it used to be. So far I am not late on anything, but there has been very little left over to buy food for the family. we have about 20,000 in CC debt and thanks to a boneheaded move on my part an ARM with a high monthly payment. Checked my credit score and was working with a lender to try to refinance for a lower payment, but until I can bring my score up a bit that isn't gonna happen.

Hi -- I make a good income, but living in Las Vegas, I unfortunately became addicted to gambling! I'm on the road to recovery (one day at a time, 120 days clean) and I finally have the mental focus to start cleaning up my credit! I have 4 payday loans in town, 3 internet payday loans, a loan with cash call ($5000) and $20,000 in credit card debt. Mostly, I can't keep everything straight! I'd like to make a large financial commitment and get everything paid off in the next year. Who should I use? I hear so many scare stories out there...

I need some help with some letters my dad asked me to write for him. 1) His girlfriend is working with AFS and needs to write a letter to them so they stop taking the ACH out of her checking account. 2) I need an idea of how to write a forgiveness of debt letter. The reason for this is that she is disabled and could only work no more than 10 hours per week. Now she has to quit her job so she can get a little more healthy so she can have major surgery. So the only income she has now is her ss disability and that is only $400 per month.

I left early from work tonight because I'm really tired...And I'm using the last bit of my energy to stay awake to pay my house's bills for the month..Gas, Electric, Phone, etc... I also just paid my credit cards. I am proud of the fact that I maintain a zero balance every month. *applause* I USE my cards...But I pay them off every month.

Hey everyone, I am so sorry I haven't been around much lately...Things have been absolutely insane. I made it through Travel Services training, and am now taking calls on the floor. The job is much more demanding mentally than I thought it would be. The systems we have to use are complicated and hard to use..The airlines screw things up like you wouldn't believe...I spent 3 hours working with Delta to get one ladies reservation fixed...BEFORE SHE EVEN KNEW THERE WAS A PROBLEM!

Found this site doing search of Academy Collections. Here's the long & short of it: Original creditor is Sears. After I was on a bank draft payment plan for 2 yrs, I called & asked them to lower the interest rate. Was told they can't, but if I were to not pay, I'd go to collections and then the CA would be able to make a deal with me. I now know this was bad advice, but I did what that nice lady advised. Now I'm dealing with Academy and like with everyone else who posted here about them, they wanted all the $ or nothing--until January, when they finally accepted 2 payments.

Anyone have any info on this one? Just got a letter in the mail from them and they are asking for $1000 more then the last balance on the credit card

Hello my name is Jim Jamerson. I'm going thru a divorce and my wife left out of state. I'm stuck with all the bills that I thought she had paid off. The things that I've got in my name are going to be cut off (cable,utilites) because of her past due bills. Also I was in the hospital when I thought my medical was paid up but to find out that she had dropped all of this. I have some things that I would love to take care of not to ruin my credit. Hi. The name's Melissa. On Nov. 6th of 2006, my husband and I were desparate. We were having problems with overdrafts in our bank acct and couldn't pay our bills. So, we (stupidly) applied for 2 pdls online. Within a few minutes, we received a call from B&L marketing and from Nevis Marketing. We took out 2 loans in the amount of $200 each. They told us they'd be emailing us the forms and we'd have to electronically sign them and send them back. For one thing, we never got any forms. They just deposited the amounts into our bank account.
