Sorry if this type of question has been answered before but I haven't seen a similar situation addressed here. What are my options for negotiating a repayment plan for accounts that are NOT delinquent? I have some high balances on cards and simply want to offer a settlement on the debt. Should the creditor agree to a pennies on the dollar settlement, how are they likely to report it on my credit report? Should I make them think that my ability to pay the full amount is questionable and therefore in their best interest to take an offer for less than the full amount on the account?

Hi all, I was a partner in a failed business a few years ago, and unfortunately I had guaranteed an MBNA cc. Things escalated and I eventually got sued by Wolpoff (MBNA attorney) even after I had filed the National Arbitration paperwork. My original $9800 dollar debt became $21000 after the judgement (I never had a chance). Wolpoff put a lien on my home (news to me since the judgement does not appear on my credit reports) and I want to refinance my home. I have to act fast and I was wondering how to offer a settlement of the original amount owed to end this hell.

I have internet payday loans from several different companies and they are killing me! My husband put me in all this debt now I have to come up with a way to fix it! My banking account in at negative 1600 dollars and I have these PDL companies calling me all day at work and home. I have paid over double on all of these account and am terrified of the threats they give me! Help please :) Thanks Leah

A collection agency trying to get in touch with me called my parent's house where I lived some years ago. My mother answered, the collection agency stated who they were and that they were trying to get in touch with me, my mother identified herself as my parent and said I didn't live there anymore and haven't for a while.

Please help me with getting out of this payday loan trap. I've tried everything that I could to find a loan to wipe them out. Now I have ten of these blood-sucking loans. I can't pay my bills and I'm working overtime just to pay their financing fees not even reducing the actual amount. I know I've paid them ten fold. I have only one store front here in Tampa, FL all the other ones are internet. I feel so awful that I have got myself into this mess. Do debt consolidators help? Everytime I search the internet I get more of those offers instead of help.

Just got off the phone with the mortgage company and am now so upset! I am now at the end of my rope. I need to come up with another $1500 to keep the mortgage company from starting Foreclosure proceedings! Said we would be getting a notice within the next 30 days unless we pay the total due. The total amount we need is $3000, so we are going to be able to come up with 1/2 of that this month, but we can't come up with the other 1/2, due to having to make our car payment, utilities, school stuff, etc. I don't have no idea where to turn, what to do or anything.

Does anyone have any information on arrowhead? I called sometime ago and the girl on the phone set me up with payment arrangements. I told her the state law deal and that other lenders were dealing with me on my state law. She said they are simply to small to give me that kind of break, they can't afford to. How would you respond to that. I thought about getting a doing the math, getting a money order and sending it for what my state says I have to pay, they have already made profit off me.

5 down and 5 to go, half way there. Working on the other five, have payment arrangements. Getting behind on 2 of them, but you know what, they will live. I will catch them up in week or two. Paying off my storefront here on 3/9 and it will be 4 to go. Will take care of one more end of month. then it is off to take care of the big boys, cashnetusa and checkngo. Been doing payments to checkngo, but haven't made on to cashnetusa yet, couldn't afford the payments they want, not right now anyway. they can pose attitude, they are not very flexible. any one dealt with them?

In novenber last year I received a letter from a collection agency with yhe name"allied interstate" try to collect a debt of $ 509.24 from Palisades,who purchased from Verizon California.I send them a letter to verify the debt they keep quiet for a month and they send a letter in that they said will verify the debt and non in feb i received a letter from palisade with a copy from a bill from verizon dated 1/22/04.My question to you is contact verizon and ask if this bill was really generated from them or it's another scam from palisade because i never own money to verizon
