DIY Settling with Chase.

18 years 11 months ago
Hey all, i'm really behind on my Chase card though i made a single 50 dollar payment last month i was just charged another 136 dollars in fees. Chase will not allow me to go into my debt management program again because i was dropped due to job loss. I'm still a few payments behind but i want to settle my debt which is currently 2,639.24 cents to whatever it would be in prinicipal without finance charges or latefees which is probably 1,200 something. Do you know of a good letter to send them or a way to negotiate with them?

Debt relief USA & Credit Score

18 years 11 months ago
debt relief USA claim that my current score (640) will drop to 560 during the settlement process (38k of unsecured debt with 5 creditors), and then will go back up to 700s. I find it very hard to believe, but the lady on the phone told me that she saw it happaning 1000 times. Is anyone have real experience with credit scores going up after the debt settlement? Thanks Andrei

Judgement papers served by the court for $375

18 years 11 months ago
Hello, I had been served a paper from the court for a judgment in the amnt of 375. I then called the company filing the judgement and they said that they would not continue to file if I paid the court on a weekly basis. SO, I paid the court in full, actually, I overpaid by 26 dollars, and they sent me a refund, however, on my report, it shows as a judgment filed, and it doesn't say paid, satisfied or anything. Do I need to write a letter to the court, the company, or just file a dispute on the credit report.

Unknown caller: 206-629-8639, Caller ID says "BW"

18 years 11 months ago
Google's not giving me much help with this one. They've called two or three times over the past few weeks. The message on my machine makes it pretty clear that it's an autodialer (you can tell because there's no sound for a while, then it suddenly connects and there's a lot of chatter in the background). All I ever get is, "Hello, [my first name]?" 206 is Washington State, of course, and I don't know anyone there. The only info I found in Google was someone saying it's a cable company in Virginia, but that doesn't sound right. Can anyone help?

Asset acceptance sending a bill of a power company

18 years 11 months ago
i recieved a phone call from asset acceptance stating i owed 633.00 to a power company. the bill was in 1989. they stated that when they recieved it in 2004 it was 504.00. the problem is back in 1989 the power bill was in my ex husbands name and they couldn't give me an address for where the bill occured. this bill is 17 years old and they told me the reason for not contacting me before now is because they had no address, but they managed to find me now even though i don't live in the same state or have the same last name. can they actually collect this?

Allied garnished my wages without contacting me!

18 years 11 months ago
I have never heard of Allied and they just started garnishing my wages without my consent! They never attempted to contact me by mail or phone, both are listed. I have been out of work on disability for the past month. After contacting my payroll department they gave me some contact information. It turns out they have the wrong mailing address and telephone number for years. I tried arguing this with them but to no avail. My next step is to contact a lawyer, but has anyone else experienced this problem?

Can they....

18 years 11 months ago
Okay "Amber Snow" (heavy mid east accent) just left me a message again, telling me its my last chance to call them, that the matter involves an important legal document with my name on it, and if I don't call back someone will be here by 11 a.m. and she read off my address perfectly.... These people are from United Pay Services....Jacksonville...that city seems to be a common denominator. I'm sorry but I'm just wondering, how legitimate are these people really? Have they ever done this kind of thing, and furthermore, can they? I've got the number, and I'm seriously fed up.
