Notice to Appear

18 years 11 months ago
Any help would be appreciated, I had a charge off of a credit card in the late 1990’s. in Illinois. The amount is around 2,700. It was removed from my credit report in 2006. I made a small payment to a collection company in 1999, or 2000. I recently, received a (Notice to Appear for a Pre-Trial Conference/Mediation). From an attorney where I am now living in Florida – Past 5 years… Should I go to the court house as requested?.. Isn’t there a statute of limitation?... In Illinois is a credit card agreement meant to be a written or oral contract? Thanks..

Hi, I have talked to someone in Superior debt relief. I have about 50k credit card debt. They told me I have to wait for about 4~6 months in order for them to talk to my credit cards company. But I don't want to wait that long . Do I have any other option ? I have heard that some people are using Forgetadebt.com Do they talk to the credit card company immediately after you join their program ? Or, same as SDR, wait for 4~6 months period ?

I have had a credit charge off in the late 1990's. The data was deleated on my credit report in 2006. I haven't made any payments to creditor or collections since 2000. I just received a "notice to appear for a pre-trial conference/mediation). Do I need to go? Is there a statute of limitation on credit card debt in Illinois? Thanks..

Dealing with NES-update

18 years 11 months ago
I sent a complaint to the BBB for the way I was treated when corresponding with NES a couple of weeks ago. The BBB sent NES's response, in which they indicated that the person with whom I spoke told an entirely different story than what I sent to the BBB. They said that I refused to settle the account. I never said that to them; what I did was try to explain to them (NES) that I had been making regular payments on the account, but the person ignored what I said.

Riddle & Associates sent me a letter regarding a debt

18 years 11 months ago
My mother recieved a letter at her house in Connecticut for me from this law firm. Stateing that I owe a dept to a credit card company. The amount that they say I owe is more than double what is reported on my credit report. I called the Credit card co. and they told me the account had been handed over to a different company. I have called this company many times and no-one returns my calls. I don't know what to do. Does anyone have any experience with this? thank you Amy

What actions can a payday loan company take?

18 years 11 months ago
I have been trying to work with payday loan companies I still owe. However, at this time I do not have the resources to make payments to them and pay for the rent, food ect. I've tried to explain this and let them know that I will pay as soon as I can afford it. The collector from Geneve Roth left me a message saying that if I didn't make a payment by 2/26 they would take action against my SS# and my name. What does this mean and should I be worried. If you can't afford to pay a payday loan company what can they do to you?
