I got a letter from Asset Acceptance at my fiance's house yesterday! They say I owe $1500 on a Radio Shack credit card I never had. Apparently, it's from 1998 and the balance at that point was $750 or something. They verified my SSN and name, and the guy was very rude. He asked if I wanted to pay it, and I said "No, it's not mine." And he said, "Fine, don't waste my time. We'll pursue this." Are they going to try to sue me? I don't know what to do. I'm about to buy a house and get married and I don't want anything to mess that up. Help!

I have $6500 in credit card debt. But I also have a debt to the navy for about $4000 and I'm going to owe about $2000 on my taxes this year. Not to mention that I have fallen behind on most of my bills and have approximately $1700 in bills for past months. My bring home pay is about $2320 a month. My bills for the month total $3375(this includes Rent, credit cards, TV, Internet, Gas, Electric, Water, Phone, Insurance, Vehicle, gas in vehicle---doesn't even include groceries!!!). It's not hard to see that every month I'm digging myself into a bigger whole, $1000+ at a time.

About a month or so I was in a really big bind so I took a couple of payday loans. Problem is now I am unable to locate the documentation to contact them to pay them off and my bak statement it not much help I need the contact informtion on the following companies (as read on the bank statement). I think I win for the oldest Debt trying to be collected.. :D My son is 20 and this was a debit before he was born.. BOFA CC. They contacted me about a year ago and I told them to get lost..I called BofA and they told me they had no clue.. Forget that it is in my maiden name the debit is before a BQ about 18 years ago.. They must be getting Desperate for debts to collect... I dont think I will even bother calling them...

I received a letter from the BBB Tuesday saying that they were unable to process my complaint. I filled the complaint out with "westbury ventures" info but the letter I got said the company was for " Zurich Ventures" They have sent "westbury/zurich" a copy of my "comment" letter. Although a comment letter is not considered a formal complaint, it was added to the company's file and my be incorporated in the Bureau rating for this company. They will send me a reply from them if it is received. Would someone please give me some input on this? Thanks!

I "applied" for a loan on the internet from this company a couple of days ago. Today I checked the status and it was "approved" but I need to send $405 as a deposit or to pay for late fees, dissability, etc. I have searched around and have not been able to find anything on this company. The loan is for $5000 at 11% interest according to them. I need to send paystub, photo ID, copy of a bill with my home address and they will fund the loan in 24-48 hours. According to their website they have been around since 1978 and they are with the BBB.
