Well I am happy to report that I used my tax refund to catch up on my payday loans, become current with my home loan and pay off my credit cards. Feels great

I am currently working my way to becoming debt free. I was young and stupid in my early 20's and now that I have a decent job I can afford to fix the mistakes i made. I have a couple of accounts that are in good standing and have been making good on the payments.. The accounts that are in negative standing (5 accounts) have all been charged off. From my research, it seems that this is the worse thing that can show up on your credit report, some say even worse then bankruptcy and even if you pay them all off it wont improve your score.

A couple years before my 2nd wife passed away I had an old 386 PC, that we setup to use as an answering mcahine instead of tossing it out. I installed a modem that could handle up to 50 voicemail boxes & such all programable, and it played wave files from my soundblater card! Cool beans! On the day I was setting it all up, a telemarketer called. I was feeling frisky in the first place & picked up the phone. "Is this Charlie's Dating Service?", I asked. "No, this is so & so company", the guy said. "It comes up on my caller ID as Charlies! Where's that redhead I ordered man?", I replied.

I just got off the phone with a Stan Morman from Bass and Assoc. He asked me first if I had heard of the company and I said yes I have but I have heard nothing good about you. He said OH...long pause..... Well have you taken care of this matter? I said what matter? He said you took out a payday loan from Bahama Marketing and it was returned due to non sufficient funds I said yes I am aware of this. Stan went on to say that according to bahmama marketing- I have had this problem in the past. I said NO that I am aware of. He said OH...long pause.
