Message to everyone whoes recieveing harrassing calls from collectors! If you get a VIOP line your calls are recoreded each month like a cell phone! This works very well when theyre trying to threaten you to pay a bill that youve never heard of or belongs to someone else. You dont have to change your number in most cases and you can easily block any number from calling you by pressing a * feature and its included in the monthly bill which is much lower than regular phone bills. I dont work for a phone company, just trying to help everyone out a bit.

I recently received a letter from a Law Offices of Mitchell N. Kay P.C. trying to collect a debt I owe. But the creditor is World Financial Network National Bank. Who do I pay? Will they report to the credit bureu that i payed the amount owed?

I just figured out the amount of the overpayment with Venture Zur $2470.00 Last night I received an Emai from Mr. Patrick Brunson from The Loan Shop/DMS Marketing/Venture Zur saying they will considered the acct paid in full and no more debiting my account and he did not mention anything about the overpayment so I decided to send him a letter asking for a refund $2470 and that I expected it within a week and with Certified Check. Lets see what he says!!!!

So... I'm a typical college kid who is doing okay with money, but I'm starting to sink into debt. I was managing things pretty well, but then my parents split up, and I can't get as much help from them as I used to. I'm really not sure what to do, as I've never filled out the FAFSA form, or even taken a real loan thus far, so I'm going to need help after next quarter's tuition kicks in... I honestly have no issues with how I spend my money, I am just interested in discussing the ins and outs of loans and managing the debt from them as preventative maintenance.

I signed up with HK 6 months ago. They've done nothing. They say they have contacted all of my creditors. All of them say they've heard nothing. I was told I would be faxed copies of all the letters. The fax never came. I was told they would be mailed. They never came. I asked if I could have copies of creditor replies and was told they don't keep them, they reject them and throw them away. That is a good indicator. Anyone legit would keep all correspondance.

I recently got a letter from a court saying that asset acceptance was requesting a wage garnishment. I read a thread about this company and wanted to know if they are allowed to do that. Cause I thought I read that they have bad colletion practices. Please get back and let me know what I can do about this?
