I have a home with about $100,000.00 in equity and I am in debt. I am frustrated because I was unemployed for 9 months during 2006 and was forced to live of credit cards and also got behind on monthly payments which led to a worse than poor credit rating. I see no way out. I am unable to get a home equity loan due to my credit and I am overwhelmed with collecters and fee's. I am looking for help. :roll:

My story is a long one. 1)I was married for several years and the woman I was married to created several accounts in her name. I am not even listed on the accounts and yet they appear on my report. 2)I filed a report in 2002 for identy theft and had restrictions put on my credit report. In 2004 or 2005 I was contacted by a child's clothing store. They say I owe them several hundred dollars. The SSI number they have is not mine and I have requested they remove this from my report. Still has not happened.

We are thinking about trying to "settle" with our credit card companies for a payoff amount then refinance our house and pay them off. How badly would this settlement affect our credit scores? Thanks!

I am trying to consolidate some bills. My car insurance, dental bill, orthodontist bill, and 5 credit cards. Lowest being 250$ and highest being $850.00. I am in the process of cleaning my credit report and recently paid off numerous collection accounts. Due to my credit history I am having a hard time receiving a loan. I am not having a hard time paying these bills, I would just like to pay them off and have one bill. I am making good money right now 84000 a year, but still can not get a loan. Thank you

i need help, and i am not getting much response to the same post. my husband and i got into a really ugly fight this weekend and he left. I did not get anything for Christmas from anybody because my birthday and christmas are 7 days apart, my insurance company debits my account for almost 300.00, unexpectedly and my account is now short for other bills that have to be paid. I had money for gas and food but my husband took it out of the house when he left. and i do not know what to do at this point. no family because they disagreed with me getting married in the first place.

Ok, I got caught up in 2005 with a bunch of payday loans. I got what I thought was all of them paid off. On friday I was driving through town on my way back to work from lunch and a cop pulled me over and said I ran a red light. He took my license, came back to my car, and told me that there was a warrant out for my arrest that was for fraud from 2005. I had to pay $230 to bail out just so someone would be there to pick my children up from school. I was treated completely uncalled for and I believe that it was a payday loan company who did this.

I currently owe 2939.00 in consumer debt to several collection agencies. After I have paid that off, I will have no debt remaining. Most of this amount is fees etc that I would like to have knocked off or reduced if possible. What I would like to know is what is a good settlement offer... As an example if I a secured credit card for 250.00 dollars at First Premier bank but they are telling me I owe them 642.00 what would be an acceptable settlement that they would more then likely accept.
