Hi. I had defaulted on my student loan some time back. It went from one collection agency to allied interstate. After reading all of these comments, I am now nervous about the arrangements that I have made with Allied. I gave them my bank routing number and they took some money out and will do so again later this month. Should I continue to do so? They have also told me that once I continue making a certain amount of payments, the loan will go back to Sallie Mae and will be wiped out of my credit report? Thanks.

As the lady said on the phone "my loan has been forgiven" (funny how the worded that am persuing a refund of excess that was paid. I was told to email them reguarding the refund. Lets see how that goes! Any one I know with this problem in MD am gonna recommend this site to them. You guys have been great thank you.

Good Afternoon, I am writing as I am getting myself into deeper and deeper debt and don't know what to do. I had to pay for a lot of my college education on credit cards....and I just keep making it worse. I currently owe the following: bank of America: 4200 Bank of America: 2500 Bank of America: 14100 Providian: 3400 Capitol One: 2500 Dillards: 700 After the changes in the minimum payment rules, I am having a very difficult time making the payments. I am a social worker and work a lot of hours every week and get paid very little.

Was curious as to what alliance one collects for? have gotten two calls in the past two days from Mrs. Larwence. Have no idea as to why found it was collection agency and curious.

I live in IL and i have some payday loans..I stumbled across this site and I am trying to get help...one for example through United Cash loans...I originanlly borrowed 250.00 on 9-12-06 and I have paid them the following amounts 9-29-06 75.00 10-13-06 75.00 10-27-06 75.00 11-09-06 75.00 11-14-06 30.00 11-24-06 75.00 11-24-06 50.00 is there anything i can do they jut called me and i told them i wanted to pay it off they told me i would owe them 325.00 to pay this off..i told her rollovers were not allowed in IL she said they are not aware of this law..please help!!

Can a small, local propane company garnish my wages for a bill they say that I suddenly owe after telling me my account was paid in full? I am meeting with my bankruptcy lawyer on Thursday, I told this guy (which is an a$$) that I would include this bill, which does not exist in my bankruptcy. He hung up on me. What should I do? Can he actually garnish my wages? Should I have told him about my bankruptcy intent? Thank you so much, my heart is pounding right now. I just don't want to be embarrassed at my job because he made up a bill that does not exist.

Hi everyone! I have been reading the forums and I really need someone's help. My husband is a compulsive gambler and has gotten us so far in debt that it ain't even funny! :cry: Unfortunately for me, my name is on the accounts that he has gotten IPDL's with. I know for sure he has loans with GenevaRoth (sp?), CashNet500 and Ameritrade. I don't even know where to start to try to clean this up. Please help. Anybody know the laws for Mississippi?
