My husband and I have been going deeper into debt since we've been married. At first it was just one credit card and then a loan and now we have thousands in medical bills that we can't afford. We have insurance now but that's not doing us any good. We barely make enough to live on and I am trying to get us out of debt because it's causing a strain in our marriage. We need help. We don't have a car because we can't afford one, and we don't have anyone who can help us.

I rehabbed my student loans. My original lender was Sallie Mae, then it was the Iowa College Aid Commission who reported it as defaulted. I completed my rehab this summer. Sallie Mae has purchased my loan and I have made two payments on time. I pulled my credit report and the Iowa Student Loan default is off - as was promised. But, the original charge off from the first time Sallie Mae had the loan is still there. Darn!! Can I ask Sallie Mae to remove it as a charge off? On the credit report it is showing as Sallie Mae 3rd Pty LSC. I am bummed out!

As y'all know, Langhorne is doing all my settlement letters, and has got a lot of my accounts settled paid in full. A friend of mine had only 2 outstanding loans with Payday OK and Payday Select, and not really enough to warrant paying an attorney to settle (she has been paying a REALLY long time) so I decided to use the letters y'all have come up with and try and settle it ourselves. For example, She has already paid over $1100 on a $500.00 loan to Payday OK. I even was so bold as to request a refund of the amount overpaid as per Texas law.

Honestly i dont know where to begin. Im a very young guy, im only 21. I got in a financial situation like a year and a half ago. When i purchased a vehicle directly from a dealership, where i paid them and not a banking institution. Well it was then when i had to decide what to pay in my bills. I have a loan open thru citi financial where my dad cosign. So that and my car payment mattered the most. Well almost a year and a half later, im still trying to pay this off, but the amount of money has accumulated and i cant afford to pay everything.

I have three payday loans also. Pay day yes charged me 300.00 for a 500.00 loan,is this legal.i live in north carolina and i entered my state it has a rate cap of 36%.what will happen if i stop electronic withdrawel for this at my bank. Will i go to jail?

A gal who said she was being harassed by a CA posted here wanting some information, her husband was military, I responded and now the entire thread is missing. Part of the thread was a posting by another member of a "heavy hitter" debt validation letter I meant to copy but is now missing. That debt validation letter was awesome and I need to use it. Could someone find the thread and/or repost?

I came to this forum almost a year ago full of anxiety,no hope and scared to death. I just paid off my last pdl, and 2 other bills,too. It has taken alot of help from this forum and the people on it to get here. The last year has been really tough, made alot of sacrifices, but I wanted to get these paid off. This site also taught me how to make sound financial decisions, and not to get back in the same boat. To all of you who are new, hang in there, there is a light at the end of the tunnel, sometimes you are just in the curve, and can't see it!! Thanks to all of you for your help...Karen
