I contacted my local college about taking some online courses. They told me I needed to take a placement test but they'd have to call back because there is a hold on my account from 1997. So they explained that I owed 193.60 from 1997 (I went there in 1992 and paid all fees up front). They said the amount was in collections until the staue of limitations passed the it was kicked back to the college where they won't allow me to return without paying the debt. Allthough I do not owe this ..can they still hold this over me as a charge.

Hi my name is Jahaira Vargas and i am only 20 years old and i am overwhelmed by all the debt that I carry. I am so confused and I dont lnow what to do I have two children and when I think things get better they only get worse. My credit report is ridiculously low and Im so young I need help. My grandmother was recently contacted by Performance Maintenance Company trying to collect on a seven year old debt from Montgomery Ward. I don't know what the statute of limitations are in Louisiana, but I remember from somewhere that you cannot collect on a debt that is more than seven years old. So even if the company has turned the debt over to someone else, can they collect the debt after seven years? Any advice is appreciated because now they are starting to call her every day and she is beginning to worry.

Hey, ok so i emailed payday ok saying they're not allowed to refinance in my state i paid an amount of 362.33 in interest alone. here is the response Quote:
