I just recevied a letter from a lawyer in TN regarding an account (chase - $8000) of mine that has been placed with them. They say if they dont hear from me in 10 days, they are authorized to file suit and that a sheriff will serve me with legal papers directing me to appear in court. I have looked them up and they are more than legit and a well known firm. I want to call them before getting served with papers, but if i call them, what approach should i take and what are my options? Thanks for any advice.

I owe CitiBank, but the account has been taken over by Asset Acceptance. They're taking me to Court. Because of the illness I was diagnosed with-(that's how I got behind on the payments), I'm unable to work. I don't own anything other then my 21 year old mobile home.. Can they take it from me? I don't think my first question went through. I got myself stuck in the PDL hole in two months. I started off taking a PDL with a true emergency...I took another PDL to pay a late bill I had. When payday hit both PDL's were taken from my account. The finance charges put me farther behind! So.. I took another PDL to cover my first two! Then a larger one to try to cover those ones. I'm now $2000 in the hole and am currently seeking a second job to clean up my mess.

Please help! I was being charged from GFSIL and ameriloan way more than what I owed them. I paid off almost 2 to 3 times the principal of the original loan, and they were still taking money out of my bank account calling it "processing fees" because "I didnt tell them that I wanted to pay off my loan" ?????? So, it was suggested that I close my bank account, and dispute the charges because payday internet loans are not legal in MA. I disputed the charges at my bank, and I have been refunded the money.

Northway is actually a Loan company at Cashtransfercenters.com. They are a short term pay day loan company that deposits a pay day loan into your account the next day after applying online. They require your Driver Licence Number, bank account number, and routing number. Your account is credited in the loan amount you requested and they withdraw the loan plus the finance charge on your next payday. If they are taking money out of your account, somone had to have known your private bank information to apply for a loan -that went into your account.
