What can you do if the original collector keeps harrassing you at work? Can you still send them a cease & desist letter?

Im 24 and I have my own retail business in NJ where I sell sporting goods. Last year over the summer my store almost went under, all of my sales got cut by 1/3. Because my business has been open for about 1yr I was hoping for the best so i decided to pay my bills with my personal Credit card. When Christmas started to become closer my store needed alot more inventory, I decided to open a line of credit which have helped me put a good amount inventory in, not in quantity but in variety to make sure my store looked full.

I, too, have been getting harrasing phone calls from Allied. I finally, spoke to the agent and she claims that I owe a certain credit card company in the amount of $200. First of all, I did not use the credit card in question and the account is closed with a zero balance. How is it possible that I owe them money?

I have found it to be very helpful and it has relieved a lot of the concerns I was beginning to develop about messages left on our voicemail from shady collectors. Let me give you a little background on mine and my husband's situation. We purchased our home in 06/2005. I was employed. A month into being in our new, beautiful home I found out I was pregnant. A month after that I found out it was high risk and would need to be on bed rest the majority of the time.

I am a single mother of two teenagers and working two jobs to try and make ends meet. I recently had to move in with a friend so that I could try and get my debt paid off and it still is not working. I have thought about bankruptcy but than think about how my credit will look for the next ten years. I can't get a car, try to buy a house or even pay back what tuition I did get for school so that I can start back up. I am so hoping that DCC will be able to assist me in getting back on my feet and help fix my credit. MF Washington
