Does SOL freeze when lawsuit is filed?

I have a court date scheduled in November for an old CC account. The SOL is around Oct 1. Since they filed the suit in August, does that mean I cannot use the SOL defense? I was not sure if it was the date the suit was filed or court date.

The Wonders of Baking Soda

Baking Soda - Anyone use this stuff? Its cheap and has so many uses. I started using it as a foot powder and it has been better than anything else I have tried over the counter. Not to get too gross but I also had a minor athletes foot deal and it cleared up that as well. You can use it as a cleaner, deodorizer, and even for brushing teeth and as a soap. And of course for baking. Not that I use it for any of the above except for cleaning counters.

New National Movement???

Hi Everyone, I feel so blessed to be a part of this wonderful community. All of you are helping me fight my problems with PDL's, much of which was my own doing. In return, I am doing my best to help others in the forums with what little knowledge I have. Now here's an idea I want to throw on the table. It seems that our membership represents close to every state in the USA. As we all know, there is strength in numbers, right?

payday loan landslide

Hi, It seems that many of you currently have or have had the same problem as me. I am in Arkansas and I am facing 4 local storefront pdl's and 2 online pdl's. I am not behind in payments to them yet, but it's gotten to the out of control point and I am having difficulty even buying groceries/paying for gas, and buying shoes/clothes for my babies as they outgrow them so quickly... Part of my dilemma is my husband is unaware of the pdl's. And we are in ministry, so I am facing utter shame and humilation here for the situation I have put myself in...

Palisades Collection strikes again!

I learned about Palisades when my credit monitoring notified me of a bad strike. So I go to check and I see these people on my credit. I didn't receive a letter and had no way of contacting them. I called equifax to dispute this and they, I guess, contacted them so I could receive a letter and phone number. I finally got a letter and called to see what it was all about, and they said it was something from Discover card and they bought debt.

Gramm-Leach-Bliley Financial Moderinzation Act of 1999

This is in regards to everyone who is experiencing problems with the pdls contacting their job, co-workers, family, etc...... I've spent alot of time today researching alot of pdl stuff and I came across this act: The Gramm Leach Bliley Financial Moderinzation Act of 1999. Basicall this is a law that puts pdls in the classification of "financial institution", and this law protects the consumers privacy and how the pdl can collect on the loan without violating your privacy. So it seems that these pdls are violating this law when they make these calls.

Need help with PDL's

Fell into the trap of payday loans like many others, and am now having trouble paying them back. It got so bad the bank suggested that I close the account to prevent any further ACH transactions. I have a total of 8 of them from online sources, and yes I'm extremely embarassed that I did this. I contacted all of the to make payment arrangements, but most of them wanted payment in full which I couldn't do. One of them Payday Avenue even sent a wage assignment to my employer, and placed several calls to them revealing my debt situation.
