Allied Interstate Inc: Do they harass consumers quite often?

19 years 3 months ago
Hi We know that the business of FDCPA laws by a CA results legal action and the consumers can file a class action lawsuit against them. So what happens when there are shady collection agencies like Allied Interstate Inc still in business? They call people endlessly without any details of the debts and show rudeness. They go against the Mini Miranda disclosure as mentioned in Section 807(11) of the fdcpa. The company is also famous for false representation of the accounts. You can be forced to pay some unknown account because of their wrong contact.

Self Employment and PDLs?

19 years 3 months ago
I am an independent contractor. As I was reading through some of the loan agreements, I discovered that most of the PDLs do not lend to self-employed. Yet, they did to me? What will that do for me? Will I get in trouble? I can not believe I did not notice that until now!! They never ASKED if I was self-employed. *to clarify my employment since I am sure someone would ask.....I work for a company in TX out of my own home for two years now and they pays me twice a month. I set my own hours as long as I meet the deadlines and pay my own taxes*

High credit balances

What can I do? Which companies are legitimate?

I paid them. What do I do?

19 years 3 months ago
I opened a credit card back in '97 and being out on the first time, I didn't make my payments. I was contacted by LVNV Funding in 2001 about making payment arrangements to pay off the balance (a little under $2K). We agreed on a payment method (ie, it was going to be several payments of so much and settled for about $800). It was set up and then when I tried to call to make the last payment I was told it was turned over to another agency (???) b/c it wasn't settled in time (despite the fact we had an arrangement). I *think* I made that last payment anyways and that was that.

CashNet500 asking for more money

19 years 3 months ago
Boy do I know how to pick the winners. This place calls me for the 1st time in 5 months about a past due amount. I had a $350 loan from them and during the fall/early winter payed around $1000 in interest. I think I left the account with around a $100 balance. If you read my notes about CashToday I had only paid 3 of the $79's for a total of around $218 on the $200. So sending them some money to leave me alone was not that bad considering what some have paid. With CashNet. Man - I have already paid almost 3X the amount. What do they want?

Royal Oak Financial

19 years 3 months ago
Has anyone ever dealt with this firm? I contacted them via an online loan application and got a positive response for a $30,000 loan. The lender is requiring a $2,200 payment for the purpose of securing a credit life ins policy to guarantee the loan. The whole thing makes me a bit nervous to send the funds for this policy. I'd hate to lose $2,200 to a scam when I'm trying to gain ground on a credit card debt.! Any help would be appreciated

No validation by CA........

19 years 3 months ago
Requested validation of a debt in early March. To date, I have NOT recieved anything from the CA that sent notice. Instead I recieved a letter from a "so-called" attornety stating I had x number of day to pay $1,46 and change. Stated debt turned over to their office. No legal action at this time. I have the original letter sent by the CA a copy of my DV letter as well as the CM-RRR paperwork. Can copies of this be sent, stating nothing can be done, since the debt was never validated?? Can someone point me in the right direction for a letter to above mentioned attorney??
