Can someone please Explain to me the difference between Chapter 7 and Chapter 13? Would appreciate any help or input. I'm up in the air with an $8000 debt that went to an Attorney. No consolidation company I've talked to has been able to help. I registered here and they can't help either. I don't have the money to settle or pay in full and the Law Firm Wont take Monthly payments. They said they are going to sue, they will not work with my budget. The Debt is not within the SOL so they can sue at any time.

I am so excited, it's finally my turn. I faxed my letter to ameriloan on Tuesday about them not being licensed in my state, etc. Well, I just got an email saying that they are writing off the remaining balance and placed my account in a "do not loan" status, etc. YEAH FOR ME!! Today I got a updated credit report from Equifax in the mail and HSBC is listing charge off each month instead of showing the payments from credit counseling. I disputed the charge off beings it was in credit couseling and according to equifax the results are to stay the same. How can they stay the same? They are receving monthly payments. This is the third dispute. What do I do next? I have sent Equifax proof of the payments from consolidation.

Back in August of last year I lost my father very suddenly and unexpected. Being his only child and him not having any life insurance, it left me in quite a bind. I ended up taking out what seems like a "bazillion" payday loans to pool together to come up with the money for the funeral and other expenses. Hey everyone. I keep getting a phone call w/ msg telling me to call 1-866-531-5020 Credit Mgmt Services. Evey time a call it noone ever answers. I am sure I owe them something is the reason for the call. How come noone ever answers??? Any suggestions?

I am really in a pickle now that my consolidation company hasn't really helped me like they said they would. I am currently being sued by one of my creditors. I really would like some info on getting a loan to pay off my debts and get a low monthly payment. The one i got set up with makes me feel very uneasy. My Huspand and I are thinking on filling for backrupcy, we have an unsecure debt of 42.000. We know that bankrupcy have bad concecuences in the future so we thought I can go banckrupcy and we can pay his debt since we have our own credit card debt. Will this be possible?

Issue #1: I have an account from AT&T Wireless on my CR with the CA being Palisades. (I know there are tons of complaints against them, I just want to make sure I've got my ducks in a row.) First and foremost, the CR says "Date Opened" is 10/2004. In actuality, this is an account that I have not paid on since late 2000 (because the debt is not accurate, I do not owe them as much as they claim). Is it legal for them to report it was opened in 10/04? Is this considered re-aging?
