I am 45. I have two beautiful kids and a wife of 10+ years. In about 4 weeks the IRS and state will try to start collecting the $63,000+ amount owed to them. We have no credit cards to pay off the tax debt, and will have no way of making the minimum amount that I am sure the IRS will expect after they review my financials. On paper I make a lot, if one doesn't add in the credit card debt, school loans from my wife, housing, schools, cars, and just plain cost of living. And we have no assets.

Hello, Thanks in advance to anyone reading this. In early 2009 I was unemployed and living with family so I had no utilities in my name. Someone opened up an account with ATT under my name/social which I just found out about when checking my credit. I called up ATT and told them about the fraud, filed a police report, and have bank statements to show my address. If I cannot fulfill their other proof of residency, I'm out of luck and responsible for the charges. ATT won't even accept tax returns as proof of residency! Is this legal?

I have been a customer of United Cash Loans on and off for the last 2 years. I am finally in a position where I am finally getting rid of payday loans for good. I already used this forums advice for Loan shop and got out a loan with them after I paid $1,575 for a $750 loan. I didn't request a refund, I sent out the email and when I didnt get a response and when I called in, they said my account was paid in full and I will not be debited on my next payday which is this Tuesday (7/31). Now, back to UCL.

I received a letter from a collection agency, Total Card Inc (TCI) collecting for LVNV Funding (Original Creditor - JC Penney). This debt is out of statute. My question is, do I want to send a debt validation letter or a cease and desist letter?

This lender keeps calling me (Cash Call) and telling me they will come arrest me at my job if I don't pay. Im located in New Jersey. My son is a federal agent and told me that they can't arrest me for a debt. he told me that since they did that, i should tell them i will pay them nothing now, not even the principal. Is he right? He told me if i don't he's going to call them and do it for me and then get the FCC involved. It was a 1500 dollar loan that they took 500 away from first anyway. i paid 680 to it so far. if I do what my son says can i get in trouble?

Hi guys, Long time reader here, and now its time for my plan to take action! Four years ago I was going to stop making payments on my 30k of CC debt, but my family convinced me to "do the right thing" so I took my savings of 10k and started paying down my cards. Well, a few days later my engine seized and when I went to swipe for the bill, I learned that my credit limits had been lowered by the amount I had paid off. POOF, 10k was GONE. I was so mad.

i just read that capital one has a judgement against them for $12 mill. that they fraudulently forclosed on military personel. but not just military, apparently they are also guilty of misleading consumers about upselling their protection plans and credit monitoring. i am one of these people that got suckered into their stupid credit monitoring. but i don't want monetary compensation. instead i want them to remove my negative marks with them from my credit report. is this possible?
