I have an outstanding payday loan with Cash Transfer Centers, which I found out from a few of you on here has a ton of different names like, Sonic/PRL, possibly more. I've tried to set up payment arrangements with them, they said no. Is there a way that I can block these people from drafting my account? I heard that if I block just one name, they can go under another name. I don't really want to open a new checking account.

Cross your fingers for me and hope it goes well. I took the plunge and joined a debt consolidation program for my Dells and wells fargo accounts. I finally put down the sword and decided to give it to others to deal with for me. My first payment is on the 11th of April. I signed up on line and then spoke with them on the phone yesterday. I explained that Oxford has all four of my dell accounts and they are a collection agency. I asked if they have dealt with Oxford before, they said yes and they are usually very cooperative.

Okay, I've talked with the consolidation recommendation from this site, and I just can't see my way clear to pay the monthly payment to get through consolidation. The amount quoted would leave me with less than 100 week for utilities, food, and transportation to and from work. Yep, I have big debt, but I also make good money. I'm already behind a couple of months on most credit cards, and just getting caught up on the mortgage and car payment.

This question is not really about a federal student loan, but of a rather odd situation. In 1996 my husband was in college and lost his finacial aid. To allow him to continue attending school, his mother agreed to borrow against her retirement benefits to pay his fees. She did not pay but he was allowed to finish the semester. In 1998 we began receiving threatening letters from the school stating that he owed them $3500. We could not pay them due to circumstances... we have never been in great financial shape. After a few years we never heard from them again. Until yesterday.

Does the record of a bankruptcy fall off your credit in 7 to 10 years of filing or the date it is discharged?

Would it be smarter to consolidate all of my debt or do the payday loans first and get them cleared off. Then do all the rest of my debt after all the payday loans are paid off so i can get them all out of the way?

Hello to all, I am a newbie here. I will make this short and explain my situation first. I filed for BK (CH7) back in 2004, about 2 years ago. I currently am in over my head as a resuly of loosing my longtime job earlier in the year and then being out for longer than I expected. I am back to being gainfully employed, but am in DEEP over my head, several months behind. One bill is credit card approx. $5K, two more credit cards, one for $600 and another for about $1k. Also, a bill from a computer mfg for about $2500. That is it. Can I do a debt condolidation? Thank you! DAL

Ok, we have a complaint center up an running. Im always big on trying ton to focus on the negative, and we often don't tell people about positive experiences. Maybe we could have a new area similar to the complaint center where community members could post Praises and positive feed back about companies, creditors, collection agencies (I'm sure there are some out there that do business in an honorable way), etc?. Anybody got any ideas or suggestions?

What happens if a company refuses to completely validate the debt?
