Have you ever seen first hand what happens when someone complains about collectors lying to the Credit Bureau?? Does anything accually happen? Do collectors who commit fraud or harrass people acually get reprimanded? Just wondering If complaining does anything and is worth our time.

Has anyone had any experience with this company? We are considering them to help us reduce our debt. They are going to charge us 15% of our total debt. Is this common?

I would fill out the form, but I do not have a phone anymore. I have very serious debt. I currently have a job, but I barely make enough money to pay my rent. I recently received a summons that one of my creditors is suing me for not paying them. I have every intention of paying all my debts, but I just do not have any extra money other than what pays for rent, gas (for a borrowed car), and food. I do not know what I can possibly do, but I definitely do not want to become homeless!! I am ashamed and scared. I owe lots and lots of money.

OK, I am going to try to clear up some myths about the junk-debt buyers, aka bottom feeders that I have seen in some threads. (The term in the industry is debt acquisition.)This is kind of long, but I think this will help quite a few people. Feel free to repost and pass on. I am going to explain some stuff, then do a brief explanation paragraph. You'll see what I mean. I spent the last two years working for a bottom feeder. I am sorry, but I cannot disclose the name of the firm. I am not posting here under a name that they wouldn't know.

these folks are unreal. I was so worried about them and the all the hassles they've given me. well, today i got an e-mail from them. the subject line said " A quickpayday discount!" the e-mail told me that in order to help me out they were willing to give me a discount of $100 and would not report me to the credit bureaus. Also, some accounts qualify for an even bigger discount. It sounds like I have to pay in full to take advantage of the discount. If I have to I will, I can't pass this up, but do you think I can coerce them into letting me make payments on the reduced amount?
