I am looking for some advice on how to consolidate payday loans with a credit counselling company - can someone give some advice on what documentation I need to have when I make an appointment to meet with them. Basically overall, how does the process work - do they pay on my behalf, am I still charged interest? I am just trying to get an overall understanding of this process - thanks for any advice.

I keep getting a call and my caller ID just shows the # 0, so I haven't answered it, and no one is leaving a message. Has anyone else ever had this happen? I am assuming it is a CA about one of my payday loans, but I am afraid to answer. I better answer next time!

Hello All! My name is Heather. I live in Michigan and work in the Finance department of a very large corporation. You would think that I would be smarter when it comes to money, seeing as I work with it all day long and I have a Bachelors with a major in Accounting. Anyway, my payday loan history started back in 2000, right before I got married. I felt really low on funds, because of the wedding, and I didn't want anyone to know, because I have always been so independent, so I took out my first payday loan. I kept paying it off and borrowing again for at least a year.

Van Ru can bite me! They sent me a letter stating I still owed eight cents on a loan. hehehe I called the US Federal Loan place and they told me to completely disregard Van Ru because they will have me owing something the rest of my life. I also received a Paid in full letter from the Federal Loan Institution lol... SCAM SCAM VAN RU SCAM

I was recently contacted by a CA on a debt that i already settled with National Assest Management; they are collecting on the remaining balance. NAM sent me a SIF letter with an offer that i took advantage of. The letter states that my 2 pay by phone checks will be cashed on particular dates and this would settle my account and they would report back to the creditor that it was SIF and will have a zero balance. Well, they never reported to the creditor that this took place AND this still remains on my credit bureau as an unpaid debt.

I have one credit card account when payment was received day due, so they marked me 30 days late, then the card was lost. So I reported it and they sent a new card, now I have two postings for 30 days late with the old card and the new card. Is this right? I already disputed with Experian and am waiting resolution.
