I wanted to send my final payment to my student loan this week so that it can show as paid in full by apr. 1, but that would have made me a little short for the week.... So I e-mailed Mario--Who sends me reminder e-mails every pay period and asked if I could pay him on April 1 instead. He said, "No problem. I'll change your due date to April 1 no problem." I asked if it would be a double payment, and he said, "No. Just regular payment of $60 to be deducted April 1." I'm impressed!

Hi, my student loan (previously held by American Student Assistance) is under wage garnishment. I called the collection agency a couple times. They requested that I send them an itemized list of monthly bills, but have not heard back from them and the garnishment started this week. I continue to call but they do not return my phone call. What can I do to have the Wage Garnishment removed? What are my options? Is there another company out there that can assist me with improving this situation. thanks

I got a phone call from a Dianne at this number, just telling me to have myself or my attorney call her back in one hour! Does anyone know this number? I have dealt with Jacobi, Anthony Galloway, all of them, is this another one to add to the list? Please help a girl out, just when I think I get rid of them, someone different calls. :cry:

I recently got a copy of my credit report (just out of college and wanted to see the damage I'd done to myself) and I see that there are 2 seperate accounts for lvnv funding: one opened in June and the other in July of this past year marked "Seriously Deliquent"... Why have I no knowledge of these accounts???

I just had a call come across my called id from 000-000-0000, which I didn't answer. Then comes my message signal. Very unclear, but I think what I got was Jocelyn Brown with Simms Associates calling about a CIT investigation that requires my immediate attention. I disputed some of the goofy stuff previously, and just got in the mail, a letter from equifax.... Here is what it says.. >>>We have reviewed your concerns and our conclusions are: The disputed accounts nebraska furniture mart (I live in Ohio...And I've never actually BOUGHT furniture.), macys/fdsb (the one that I had 2 accounts) osi collections, cbusasears, chase, n/a, are currently not reporting in your credit file. Please forward to Equifax a copy of your discharged bankruptcy documents. This means that they removed those items, right?

I am getting very uneasy reading some of the experiences posted here. It seems that even though people are consolidating and paying the companies back, the companies are (1) still trying to debit checking accounts and (2) Calling places of employment. I really don't want to have either happen. I haven't defaulted on any of my payday loans although I will not be able to pay them when my next pay period comes around. I am sending my payment in to T & C on Wednesday but I am still worried.

Hi everyone, I couldn't help but notice the general consensus in this forum that the use of aliases by collectors is dubious. I understand that such a tactic seems like hiding, but please allow me to defend the use of aliases. They are legal in most states, in fact they are a requirement in California. There are legitimate and practical reasons to use one. 1. Some collectors have exotice names, like I do. They are a time-consuming mouthful, and a nuisance to have to repeat several times over the phone when leaving a message with someone hard of hearing.
