It started 6 months ago, 3-5 messages every week. They are looking for someone with the same last name as mine but the first name is only simular. I called them back Multiple times to tell them they have the wrong person but they continue to call. I do not have any outstanding bills. In matter of fact I have a 805 credit rating. What can I do? Should I send a cease and desist letter?

Hey boys and girls,, I've perused several internet message boards like Creditboards, Info center, etc... and while they are great sources of information, this one takes the cake because it is the most useful cite that I've seen when you're caught in "Payday loan hell." I think I joined this site 2 weeks ago and I cannot believe how helpful it has been. If you all think this is a corporate azz-kissing, then you're right. LOL! I'm sucking up to you all because that is how great the information has been. Had I found this 2 months ago, God knows how far ahead of the game I'd be.

Hi, Maybe someone can help me. I have spent the last 5 years rebuilding my credit from around a 400 beacon. (Divorce, bad management of money etc)I was at between 537 and 575 (something like that) depending on which Reporting Agency you looked atjust a few months ago. I even got a car loan for a NEW car in 2004. After the hurricanes and me losing my job in November, companies reported me as a late pay even though some had agreed to payments while others simply refused to work with me or even get back to me to tell me no.

If I have a loan with a co-signer can it be put into consolidation?

I am always trying to repair my credit! Thanks for this site, and considering I've heard of half the "bad" companies here, I might be able to help others!

I have a habit of spending my money poorly, which is one reason I'm in the situation that I am. I also have a fiance that can not stand to have $1 in his pocket..It has to be spent. :-P Today, he called and wanted to go the Hometown Buffet. I thought about it a second, because I like their food--and even more, I like not having to cook it. :) Instead of saying, "Yes, let's go!" I said, "That's a lot of money to spend for macaroni and cheese and mashed potatoes..." YAY! I'm becoming a tightwad, and I love it. :)

About a year and a half ago, I was a little short on cash, and decided to respond to one of those "Get $500 today!" e-mails. The next morning, I had $300 in my account. Pretty soon, I had around 10 loans, basically taking one to pay another, and barely able to afford my car payments. I make decent money in sales, but my entire paycheck ended up going to pay those insane loan fees. Luckily, my tax return is large enough this year to finally pay them OFF! The problem is, these loans become an addiction. Almost like a drug.
