888-200-6501 - Does this call belongs to HSBC?

19 years 11 months ago
I received a call today that my HSBC card has been turned over to the law firm of Finklestein & Kern out of Knoxville, Tn. I called them to inquire of what was going on and all I got was the voicemail of the attorney who has my card account. The consolidation company stated when they tried to call them, they stated they had to have my permission. I left verbal permission on his voicemail. Does anyone know how I can get an address of this law firm? When I do a reverse number lookup and it comes up to a residential number. What direction do i go now?

Encore Makings Threats

19 years 11 months ago
I have been receiving threatening phone calls from Encore about an account they have. I have never received any notice from them -so I mailed them a certified letter requesting validity of the debt and to cease calling my employment. Today I receive a call saying they don't have to comply with that and they will contact my employer to do a wage assisgnment. Can they do this? Wouldn't a wage assignment have to go through the courts or can they do it directly with my employer?

Hello, everyone.... thank you for such a wonderful and helpful site. Here is my current story.... Newly married and trying to get my husbands credit fixed to purchase a new home together..... The loan officer pulled the credit file nessasary to purchase a home, and told us what we needed to do before we could continue with the purchase.... I have sent letters to all the credit card companys (3) asking them for a reduced payoff amount. Now I'm working on the medical bills.

To all forum members

I am sorry for the way I conducted myself towards moderator stopper and Roy. I should have never stooped to their level. I am just frustrated that people come in here and bash us for not paying our debt and saying they have captured our IP addresses and copied what we have posted. I was accused last night of posting a slanderous statement toward Taylor James & Associates and then going in and deleting it. That I never done. I try not to let my temper get involved, but sometimes it is hard.

Need a sample letter to O/C to pull back debt from C/A

19 years 11 months ago
I'm looking for a sample letter to write to my original creditor to pull back debt from a collection agency. I really don't know what to say in the letter. I've searched on the web, but could only find this site: This site offers a e-book on repairing your own credit for $29.95 (which I am considering), and will provide you with a bunch of sample letters if you order (this was one of the letters they offered). Anyone know where I could find this sample letter for free?

Judgements while employed.

19 years 11 months ago
I've just recently aquired a job to help pay down my debts...but in the past year, I was afraid to open an account being that someone has 'by law' has authorized to attacked my account and take the money from it, and I haven't been able to acquire any information as to who it is...and now, I've found out that I have not only one, but two Judgements placed upon me...I am afraid they will attack my place of employement and take my entire paycheck...what can I do...I would like to clear up this matter. Thanks very much. A.

Are payoff amounts helpful/harmful?

19 years 11 months ago
When you are offered a payoff amount, should you accept?(only when in writting, of course!) Does it show up on your credit report that you took a payoff amount? Does that reflect negatively on your credit report? Thanks! --K from New York
