My dear Santa, Just a few days we have in our hand to say “Good Bye 2005”. Another year has come to its end. This is the time when we wish to get some gifts from you. But what can I ask except World Peace and Happiness this year? Sufferings of human just wet my eyes when I try to look at our achievements and stories of success. We might have sent shuttles to space but we could not stop the destructive storms. Series of natural devastations have changed lots of lives and it will take years for them to come back on to the usual track.

Some believe that only rich people can become debt free. This is not the fact. Anyone can get debt free and this can be achieved by pure hard work and dedication. Being in debt is not the problem faced with people who revolve their credit and make mistakes. Many hard working people are also facing this problem nowadays. When you are trying to become debt free, you should be complete focused. Do not get lazy and look for some quick fixes. This work is not that easy and cannot be done in short time.

Bankruptcy should not be considered as an option for erasing your past debt problems. It is one of the top five life altering negative events that can be faced at any situation in life. Its consequences are not less harmful than divorce, severe illness, disability, and loss of a loved one. Though bankruptcy cannot be compared with the pain involved in the loss of dear one, but it is life altering and leaves deep wounds in the human psyche and the credit file. Please have a thought before you seriously take this step.

Say I have taken a million dollars from a reputed bank, will I be able to consolidate it? Do debt consolidation companies help in company debt consolidation? I have seen the most of the debt consolidation and settlement companies offer only personal debt (in general unsecured debts of small amount less 100 thousand dollars). Is there a way I can find a debt settlement company doing company debt consolidation? Thanks Jambur

My husband was a partner in a business that was disolved in 1999. The business American Express credit card account was opened with him signing the application as guaranter (spelling?). When he left the partnership, he notified, in writting, all company cards that were in his name that he would no longer accept responsibility and a request to close the account. At that time (about March 1999) The debt was about 1500.00. The remaining partner accepted responsibility of the debt since he would retain the assets that were purchased.

This is what i read in an article about what's in your credit report. Does anyone know how safe this information is from other people? Is there a law or something that covers you if this information is "stolen" from you and used by other people? I mean besides identity theft situations, those take years to clear up it seems and i was wondering if something existed to protect you immediately? I heard that debt consolidation is a bad idea because, even though it clears your debt for oyu, it is looked on poorly by creditors in the future. Has anyone else heard the same thing? Thanks, Daniel
