I have a couple of capital one accounts totalling about $10,500 I want to know what is the best way to make them go away. They have been on my credit for almost 6 years now.. They keep getting passed around from one collection agent to another.. other than these accounts my credit is in great shape.. I just want to know the best way to get them payed off or vacated.. or just plain make them go away..:) Please give me some ideas... hello all i am 20 yrs old and i am in a debt of about 7grand. unfortuantley the debt is all mine and is not all under my name. most of it is under my ex fiancee's name. she dosnt want to work with anyone because she feels like her credit will be ruined. like consolidation and stuff like that.i am going to college this summer and i cant go with all this debt that is killing me and keeping me and my ex together. i was wonderign if there is anyway that i can get a loan of 7grand so i can pay it all off and get a bill monthly and so like that things will be more organized.

Anyone here ever heard of palisades collection agency?? Man, this is sooo wild!!! I go to the mailbox today and theres a letter from these people saying that my account has been 'sold' by my "previous" creditor to my 'current'creditor. They have the original creditor as being Chase Bank and the previous creditor as being Chase Manhattan Bank and have themselves as being the current creditor. Its for $962.61. Okay, this is why this throws me off.

Today I got a call from ameriloan about my defaulted payday loan with them. She started giving the typical bullcrap of charging me with writing a bad check although I never signed a check and it was all ACH debit authorization (BTW the I closed the checking acct). Then I tried to strike a deal with her to settle the current balance of 600 for 380 if I pay them 40 bucks right now. She accepted the deal after 15 minutes of negotiations and asked for a debit or credit card! Yeah right, as if I was gonna give them that info.

Just received a call from a Mr. Martin at the Law Firm of Fred Kelly regarding the severity of an issue with my SS# attached to this. Does anyone recognize this phone # or the name. He states his office will be open until 7 p.m. and I should contact him today. Don't they have to send me something in the mail to validate the debt or can they just harass me at work? I thought I had all of the debts taken care of and then another issue arises. The ext. was 202. Please help because I've already been scammed once. Thanks!

Hi all, I have a situation which I am guessing is fairly common. TrueLogic has been calling and leaving automated messages on my voicemail, however, I only know it's TrueLogic by doing a reverse look-up. On top of that I have not received any kind of written letter from them or any information regarding what debt they are calling on. I think I know what they are calling about but I live with my girlfriend so for all I know they could be calling on something for her.

I have recently been getting calls from them and I believe I know the debt that it's regarding, but I would like to see something in writing before I speak to them on the phone. My past experiences in talking to debt collectors over the phone is that they use bullying and scare tactics.
