hi there, I've been reading through some of the other posts about allied interstate. I have recently been getting calls from them and I believe I know the debt that it's regarding, but I would like to see something in writing before I speak to them on the phone. My past experiences in talking to debt collectors over the phone is that they use bullying and scare tactics.

Here is my situation. I took out 12 payday loans (stupid, yes I know). I defaulted on all of them in November by closing my checking account. I looked into debt settlement but most of these PD companies say they will not work with anyone but me. So, I think my only option is bankruptcy and a lawyer told me that his opinion was that I would qualify for Chapter 7. I also have about $30K in credit card debt. I'm now going to try to save up the $1,000 fee he quoted me so that I can file first thing in January.

Can anyone tell me who BMG Group is? They sent a letter stating we have defaulted on a loan and it has been turned over to Ellis Crosby & Associates for aggressive recovery. If Ellis Crosby is no more then how can an account still be turned over to them?

Good morning everybody, As I read the posts, I read a lot of horror stories about collectors who are committing numerous fdcpa don'ts. Why, I will never even try to understand. What made me a successful and well liked collector is certainly missing in all these cases. Allow me to share with all of you, the whole collections process through my eyes, how I realy think it should be. I have always approached borrowers with an open mind. I don't know them, or what is happening with them, therefore the tone I take with them is neutral, calm, and unassuming.

I was sent a letter from asset acceptance llc (sent Nov 14) stating I owe over $800 that I know nothing about. I sent them a letter requesting verification and what I received (Dec. 3) was a page listing the original creditor and acct. #, principal bal., interest amt., total bal., my address, a phone number I have never had and the last four digits of a social security number which is not mine. Now obviously they've got the wrong guy, but will they screw up my credit and keep hounding me?

actually, the forums don't seem to be refreshing even when i make a post now. my last post to this particular forum isn't showing up after refreshing my browser. however, when i look at the list of all the forums, it shows that i made the last post to 'the pub, feedback and announcements.' when i go into that forum my post isn't there!!! i've tried using 3 different browsers on two different computers using 4 different ip addresses and still the same thing!!

went to shell station in hileah florida and passed my debit card at the pump for ten dollars of fuel. i got charged fifty dollars. i like some explanation as to why. would also like to get my money back. do not want to take legal steps, lets solve this problem.

Do I pay the highest interest rate first down to the lowest or do I pay the smallest amount up to the highest?

....washington state law does not allow a collector to threaten a debtor with bad credit?
