I sent letters to my credit card acounts, asking to waive interest rates and reduce the balance, before I file for bankrupcy. Will I actually here from them?

In 2001 I applied for a Target Credit card .. The debt went unpaid so Assett Acceptance was given my file.. in 2003 my sister applied for a mortgage.. She found MY Target/AAL account on her credit report.. (our ssn's are off my 1 digit) We fought with them and they claimed they didn't have the original application. My sister didn't talk to me for 4 months because she thought I did this on purpose. Somehow her husbands business line was on the account. I tried telling her that his # was on there because a search was done on her SSN to find out anything they could to obtain the amount owed.

I recieved a summons from a credit card company regarding a $1,600 balance on a credit card that only had a balance of $400. The summons was delivered on friday(the day after Thanksgiving) and the court date is on Monday. Is this considered to be delivered a full 3 days before the court date? Mrs. B

I received a letter from Asset Acceptance attempting to collect on a car loan. If it were not for such a huge amount, I would find this amusing. Any carloan I ever had has long since been paid off and the last car I paid cash for. They are offering to give me a 70 % discount on an amount of $13,849 so supposedly I only have to pay them $4,154.99. The referred me to paymybill.com to pay it. No explanation of whom I supposedly owe the money to, no specifics at all. I am furious about this.

I just received a letter from a creditor threatening to confiscate my tax refund. Will they have access to my earned income credit also? I live in Illinois.
