I rec'd a message on my answering machine about 2 weeks ago with a number and reference #. So I called and found out it is Asset Acceptance trying to collect a debt from a Lerners from 1989. I did said that I didn't know anything about this but did ask about the SOL and they claim that since they purchased it, it is now a new debt. Not knowing how to reply to that I just hung up. They have called quite a few times after, but never when I am home. I always get the recording message with the same number and ref#.

I received an email from New Jersey Consumer Affairs department and it stated that AR Technologies IS NOT LICENSED TO COLLECT!!! Guess thats why they don't validate and turn accounts over to other collection agencies. I can forward the email if anyone wants to see it.

I have $42,000 credit card debts and $10,000 of medical bill that is due. Since I had been passing through a hard time, I took few payday loans. Now situation is even worse than worst. Continuous collection calls have made me tense. Payday lenders are threatening of wage garnishment.
