Is their a company out there I can trust for consolidating my insecure debt

I have an education loan, which I received in 1994. I live in Chicago. A few days back I received a call and someone told me that I have to pay the loan amount immediately. I think the SOL of Chicago has expired already. The lady told me that she will garnish my wages if I don't pay. Is that possible? I have missed only a few installments, since I lost my job. Right now I am employed again, so can repay my loan but a lower amount. Plz advice. If the SOL is over, I wud ignore the call. I don't care about my credit score.

Hi. I had three accounts with wells fargo financial. due to much hardship, I got drastically behind in payments and they did a 'charge off' on me and sent accounts to CAs. Two of the accounts are being paid now. One was a visa and CA is outstanding. :D The other was a small 'inhouse' charge card that I started paying to wells fargo directly. (I never heard from a ca on that account, so started sending payments to WF-they accepted and are working with me :D ) The third went to a CA that I heard from ONE time. I have wrote and wrote and nada, nothing, zip, zelsh from them.

Someone from Certified Recovery Systems contacted a friend looking for me. First, I have no idea how they got my friend's number, second I have no idea why they're contacting my friends when I've recieved nothing in the mail or by email from them, and third I've no idea why they're looking for me in the first place. Since I don't have a phone and can't call them, does anyone have some other means of getting in touch with this company? I've visited their web site, which was decidedly unhelpful.

I am a hispanic woman. My last name is clearly hispanic. I need a credit card for my job. I have been paying on time and repairing my score for over 2 years. And yet, every single card I apply for tells me I have delinquent or collections on all three of my credit reports. I have diligently kept up with each of those reports and have disputed each discrepancy. When I look at my report it's not bad. There is not that much on there that shows bad debt or even the other stuff that can bring your score down.
