Didn't I read in one of the threads that the Ellis Crosby case had been continued until today? So has anyone heard if anything is happening today? I'm curious!

Is there anything stopping me from deciding to assess a collection agency, or even and original creditor a handling fee for dealing with them? Say I send a notice each contact (written or telephonic) will be assessd a fee of $25.00. We all know they will probably laught at it and try not to pay it. But then after 30 days, turn it over to an agency (E-max a.k.a. collect edge) says they won't charge a fee if they don't collect. Maybe its just a pipe dream, but why couldn't a person do it?

When working with debt consolidation - is it also possible to pay above the payment plan (thus paying it off more quickly) or would that normally result in a prepayment penalty? Thanks!

for the past 2 years, im out of the US. i closed my crdit card acts and my bank accts before i left. i paid all my bills since i knew i will not be back for long. end of this month, im planning to come back. do these 2 years of not having any cards affect my credit history?
