Back in 2000 I was studying in Ohio where I was a student. I had issues with Ameritech, my local phone company because my long distance carrier Qwest had screwed me and made me use an expensive ATT line which had charged a crazy amount to Ameritech for me to pay for using their service. Basically Qwest long distance was not working and they asked me to use ATT lines and said they will reimburse but did not when it was time. The issues started in May 2000 and it dragged on till october. I put it on dispute with ameritech and did not pay.

Regarding topic http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/forums/pay-offdebt.html I sent the "creditor" a debt validation letter on Aug 15th and have yet to have anything mailed to me regarding the validation. They continue to call my house and place of employment wondering when the soonest time I can pay this debt off. I did a signature confirmation on the debt validation letter which was attempted to be delivered on Aug 17 and a notice waiting at the "creditors" office, but it has yet to be picked up.

I have a debt that is with a collection company and they are calling me 6-8 times a day but only leaving 1 message a day. This has been going on for 8 weeks now. Yesterday they had someone come by my house and leave a note on the door for me to call. Also, one time they called and my husband answered and they started talking to him and wanting money from him and telling him about the situation. They keep pressuring me for money and asking me if I can get the money from a family member, when I have had to loan my mother money and my grandmother is on social security.
