Hello, My collections agency has told me today that American Express is no longer accepting payment plans on accounts in collections, and that current plans can only last another 60 days, then the amount must increase by 30% of the previous plan payment.

How do debts that have been paid off, but are still listed as "unpaid" on my credit report affect my credit rating? They are the only two derogatory things on there but they were paid over 3 years ago

Does your agency deal with payday loans. That is can they negotiate with these people?

I have several credit cards that i still owe money to. One of them are trying to take me to court. I have been in finacial difficulty for a couple of years and now that i have my employment back on track i really would like to handle all of my debt problems and i want to know if couseling and consolidation will help me get myself out of situation?

My story isn't so different from many others...just that it happened to me. My husband and I were separated for many months and he was seeing someone else. After we had gotten back together, the woman notified him that she was pregnant. I now have a beautiful 3 month-old step-son, but we also have the financial obligations that go along with a baby. We weren't ready for the expenses of a child, let alone the legal fees that we've incurred.
