can you do debt consolidation after you have filed bankrupcy

I recently enlisted the help of a debt consolidation company online and want to know if it is a reputable company. The ph.# listed on the websit is the # I called :(800) 452-3135 and I was told it is out of Calif. but the company they do business with is out of Florida, and it is called Consumer debt solutions, Inc. Can you verify this for me?

You so called "lawyers" threatening me that I am going to be picked up by the police for fraud and arrested in a couple hours. Unless I pay the money they want. They never once said they were a debt considation member, nor offered a payment plan. It was stated pay within 24 hours or go to jail and be arrested in 3 hours from the phone call. You business tactics are disgusting, and probably illegal, as your "lawyers" or members are making up lies about being arrested!!!!! Get your people straighted out on what the law says. I called the police on you and your members lying tactics.

I took out a student loan around 1986 for around $1,600. Since then I've had almost $5,000 garnished from my wages and today received a phonecall that I still owe almost $6,000 that I must pay in 2 days or else they're going to begin garnishing my wages again. How can it be so much? Is this legal?

Looking back, I am, what I call, a "Married-Single" mom. Although married, I had the full responsibility of raising four boys. Towards the latter part of my marriage, I was fortunate enough to become a Medical Transcriber and work from home. Both my mother and I are having the same problem. She has the same bill collector call her almost everyday at all hours about a 15 year debt for a student loan when she did not sign or agree to pay them back anything. I now have the UPS sending me letters for a package that was already paid for by the sender over 5 months ago. They first sent me a bill for $87, not for $53. I never signed anything and the delivery women never mentioned any outstanding bill.
